Very few (if any) players will be able to gather 30 shards while having no interest in the item (I figured your goal is to say you are getting rid of the hammer more than the actual act of disenchanting). You would either be completely deceiving the people you play with or they think you are lying week after week as they force shard after shard on you. Of course, you will likely use at that point, see it's awesome, and keep it anyway after going through all the hassles.
