The odds are already stacked against the attacking force. In fact, they're stacked in favor of the defense more so than we would like at this point. We're looking to address this in an upcoming patch so that defending Tol Barad doesn't feel like there's virtually no fear of loss.

In line with that design goal, we made this hotfix to ensure winning Tol Barad back for your faction feels much more rewarding.

December 22 - 27 Cataclysm Hotfixes

  • Tol Barad

    • Winning as an attacker now rewards players with 1800 Honor Points, up from 180. Winning as a defender still rewards players with 180 Honor Points.

We're working with our development team to prepare a blog post about Tol Barad balance and gameplay, as well as the improvements we'd like to make. You can likely expect that post sometime within the first week of January after the holiday break.

What design goal? What specifically are you guys thinking of doing?

The reason I ask is because Blizzard has a history of not responding appropriately to PvP issue or PvP player concerns. So please, enlighten us on what exactly you guys are planning on doing and hopefully you can take some of the constructive criticism this community will provide, integrate it, and produce something that is worthy of both our time and money. To date, that hasn't occurred.

I hope you can understand an overwhelming skepticism on my part that your team will actually manage a viable correction here. (See: Blizzard's upcoming 'fix' for Tol Barad.)

We're well aware. I don't have any news to share right now as the situation is still being evaluated. The holidays certainly work against us a little, it's just simply slower for people to work from home or wherever they may have traveled to be with family, but I assure you it's something that's being actively discussed at this moment.
