Account Banned Because of A Hacker

I made another thread on this a day ago, but I cant find it.

My account was hacked.

It was by a hacker, like..hacks the game..he had some sort of a bot, that obviously generated huge sums of money. While he was under control of my account, I was able to discover this, because I went to my wowarmory.com page for my main character, and i had gotten Loot 1,000 gold, Loot 5,000 gold, and Loot 10,000 gold all in a day. (Korelo, Level 80 Human Paladin, Realm Silvermoon).

This hacker also changed the name of the character to some name I cant remember, but I just got it changed back to Korelo an hour ago.

Now, in the middle of a heroic Violet Hold run, I get logged out and get the banned screen. I checked my email and yes it said something about being unfair to the enconomy of WoW, as i expected.

I know I have to send the email to the email they give..but how do I explain..do I just say what I said right there? How do they know im speaking the truth?

Im just really confused, frustrated, and scared right now. Need serious help from a GM right now.

You must send an email to Account Administration and inform them that your account was hacked and ask that they lift the ban. They will check their logs and IP records, see where the money came from, etc. and if the information they have verifies you were hacked and the account was not under your control, they will remove the ban and the black mark against your account. This is your ONLY option. Arguing with people on the forums about what you did or did not do will not get your account back. Only an email to AA can do that.

Good Luck.

Well, I am very sorry to hear of this, I know this is an extremely stressful experience. Alan is correct, the only department that can review a ban is Account Administration. You need to contact them at [email protected]

In the meantime, I can not urge you strongly enough to do a deep security scan of your system. If they CAN still get back in, they WILL be back. I'd also recommend changing your email password once you know you are secure.

This sticky may prove useful.

Ive done a scan with Windows Defender, did not find anything. Doing another with AVG, so far nothing.

You might want to consider other scanning options.

It's important that a scanner be up-to-date, malware can morph daily.

It's also important to remember not all scanners may pick up all infections. This is especially true with 'virus' scanners and dealing with the class of malware typically referred to as 'keyloggers'.

Guys, this is going no where good.

I could write an encyclopedia on ways this can happen.

Does it often result from insufficient security, or sharing accounts, or dealing with black-market dealers in prohibited items, yes.

Does it necessarily mean the compromised party was the offender, not always.

Let's let this die here.
