Do the mods just browse the forums all day?

Well they probably aren't paid that much, and there are a lot of goddamn forums.

Plus people generally enjoy talkin %!#% about blizzard, so you could definitely take those insults as personal.

Whats the difference between a mod and and a CM? I thought CM stood for community moderator.

Community manager.

We frequently act as liaisons between numerous departments here ensuring the information we're providing to the public is current and accurate. We meet with leading members of our design staff regularly to discuss popular topics we find here on the forums, as well as probe them for any information we might want. Many of the news posts, contests, content previews and other announcements you see on our website and forums come from us. We help compile patch notes. We monitor service-related topics, both from internal and external sources. We coordinate with our international community and web teams to make sure we're all on the same page, and have our information presented in all supported languages in every region. We run the forum MVP program as well as the fan site program.

... and so on. :)

I think if I were a forum mod (and that was my only job) I would go insane.

Better you than me, Zarhym.

Forum moderators do have quite a different role to play, though they are involved in many community-related activities to break up the monotony of addressing reported posts and emails about suspensions all day. :D
