Ban/Suspension for Ulduar Emblem Exploitation

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend whose account is currently suspended.

Here's the basic situation, without overindulging in unnecessary details. During a 25-man Ulduar raid last week, my friend's guild encountered a bugged chest from a boss that allowed people to loot an infinite amount of Emblems of Conquest for every time they clicked on it.

More or less, 10 or so people decided it was a good idea (and obviously it wasn't) to loot a bunch of emblems, and in turn exploited the chest. The remaining raid members, however, did not loot a single extra badge and did not obtain any loot illegitimately, and as such did not exploit.

Today, however, they discovered that Blizzard pretty much blanket-banned/suspended every member locked to that raid ID, including plenty of people that chose not to participate in exploitation.

Is this really going to stay like this? With more than half the people suspended or banned being entirely innocent and instead just happening to be in a raid with people who decided to exploit? Seems unfair to me, and I'm not looking for specifics, but some general answers as to what they can expect would be great.

Thanks.

Q u o t e:
interesting scenario. I'd have all those who feel they were suspended without just cause send an email to WoWaccountadmin@Blizzard.com and contest it.

Indeed. This is the only appropriate method of addressing the situation, in fact.

I am truly sorry that I'm unable to intervene more directly, but contact with wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com is the only method to dispute this matter.
