my 2 cents (if you disagree with the things im about to say, please reply with ideas and maybe even data, as opposed to troll post on forum alts:

i think the thing that has locks pissed off the most is not the simple fact a talent had its dmg nerfed 30% with a hotfix the day after we received it - i think what has us most worked up was that those who used this talent on the ptr knew it was OP and many of us were very vocal about it and it went live in its OP state (if you can stomach it, check my post history and you will see ive mentioned it in several posts over the course of a few weeks.)

so the fact that conflagrate went live, when it was pretty obvious on the ptr it needed a nerf, is what has me ticked. there was some glimmer of hope in my mind that i might be able to keep it in its powerful state. this situation reminds me of beta all over again, when alot of warlocks were pointing out the obvious (we scaled very very poorly on the way to 80 and epic gear) and nothing was done to address our concerns. we received buffs on the way to where we are now (minus fear if course) but they took time and patience on our part.

i think i speak for alot of us when i request we receive something to make us feel better sooner rather than later :) the fear nerf was justified b/c it made affliction too powerful of a pvp sepc (moreso in arena than in bgs). it wasnt a big of a problem for the other specs and they will suffer a bit for it (but thats a topic for another thread.) the conflag nerf was justified too b/c we could honestly kill other players too fast (something alot of warlocks complain about but is not as much of an issue w/ 20k hp and 800 resilience but thats a topic for another thread.) arguing that we die to other players dealing damage similiar to that done by conflag does not justify us having that much power. it does however highlight a larger problem in pvp overall, where insane dmg like conflags 10k crits seemed somehow ok.

Q u o t e:
Something tells me that intentionally leaving the game imbalanced for periods of time because of other mistakes isn't very strong game design.

Yup.

If we could go back in time, we would have nerfed it before the build went live. We hoped the changes we put into place would be enough. They were not. Remember, the PTR does not represent every single build we make.

Given that we didn't change it before 3.1 went live, these kind of threads seem to be "Well you missed your chance -- now you're not allowed to fix it," which seems a peculiar argument to me.
