Monsterbelly Apettite: poorly implemented.

Monsterbelly Apettite is the fishing daily where you have to fish a Bloated Monsterbelly in the Frozen Sea.

The problem is, the biggest chance of catching the fish is fishing it along with Deep Sea Monsterbellies, and the open water catches of these are very low, making you resort to schools to be able to complete it.

Most of the people doing the daily knows nothing about Fishing, making them cherry pick Deep Sea schools just to complete their daily.

What happens with that is, every time when the daily is up, Frozen Sea is 90% Moonglow Cuttlefish schools that doesn't drop the daily fish. Making you fish schools is a poor design since it has a high potential for griefing, someone can despawn all the Deep Sea schools until all of them spawn into Moonglow Cuttlefish schools, and since most people can't figure out what cherry-picking means, and how you can counter that, almost everyone is running around aimless while looking for schools.

My suggestion is making the Bloated Monsterbelly drop together with Rockfin Grouper catches (the main open water fish) and Moonglow Cuttlefishes.

Last time I did this I didn't hit any fishing node and it took me about 5 casts. Currently we are okay with the number of casts it takes to complete the Terrorfish fishing daily which tends to take me a lot longer, so the monsterbelly one is fine. The fishing daily requires fishing time.

Heh - I thought of that and made sure. I just had an hour to kill before bedtime so I thought I'd try out the fishing daily for the first time. I didn't complete it on either one though the Hunter made it to 150 fishing. My Warrior has been at max fishing for a while but I even tried using a +100 lure to see if that made any difference.

Were you getting a lot of gray items in the process?

(I know the armory can be slow on some updates, but...) Your armory shows that you haven't gotten the
Grand Master Fisherman achievement which means your skill is pretty low. The monsterbellies and all of the Northrend fishing areas are pretty high level.

My WARRIOR is maxed on fishing.

I was trying to do the jewelry one in Underbelly on Cenarius server.

Some grays but ended up vendering over three and a half stacks of the Carp (70+) and had about 10 Magic Eaters plus a few vials and one crystalized water.

The Hunter (different account) was getting a ton of grays but also managed a few Magic Eaters to my surprise considering his fishing skill (hit 150 while fishing there).

Several guildies assured me that they had gotten the quest item even with lowish level fishing but a few others said they gave up after a half hour or more.

The character I do these on is maxed and gets no gray items and the fishing dailies are done fairly quickly - I think the longest any of them have taken (and I have done them every day) is like 25 casts and that was for the Terrorfish. I would say to keep working on leveling your fishing and it should get faster over time.

What about the Dalaran sewer one? Last time took me about 5 casts but the time before that it took me 15 minutes to get the corroded jewelry...

It still takes random luck. This happened to me a couple times with the mudfish daily back in TBC and my guild always laughed as they never took more 5 casts.
