Refer a friend bonus questions

i recently recruited a friend to wow and it says that we get a 3x bonus xp as well as i get 1 free month we have yet to see the 3x xp or we just dont notice it how can i tell if i am or not cause everytime i look to see if i am getting it it just says 100 percent non rested when u scroll over xp bar and as for the 1 month free idk if its cause it was already paid for or what but i would think it would say 1 month credit or something and i know i have to wait 2 months of my friend paying for the mount but i will be getting that right as long as they pay for 2 months

There are a few restrictions in place for the Recruit a Friend triple experience benefit. Both characters need to be in the same group, within 100 yards of each other, and lower than level 60. Additionally, in order for both characters to receive the triple experience bonus they must be within 4 levels of each other, otherwise only the lowest level character will benefit.

If you are unsure if you are receiving the triple experience bonus you may check your Combat Log in game after completing a quest or defeating a Mob. The following instructions are directly from our Recruit a Friend FAQ:

Triple experience will be noted in your Combat Log as follows:

"Player gains 'X' experience ('Y' exp Refer-A-Friend bonus)"

The "X" value represents the total amount of experience gained, while the "Y" value represents how much extra experience is gained as a result of the Recruit-A-Friend promotion.

For example: If a monster is normally worth 25 experience (while partied) and you kill it, should you be eligible for triple experience, your Combat Log entry will appear as "Player gains 75 experience (50 exp Refer-A-Friend bonus)".


Finally, your account will be credited with a free month once your friend has paid for a minimum of 1 month of subscription time. As they would have received a free month of time when they upgraded from a trial to a normal version of World of Warcraft, you may need to wait until their free month has expired and an actual subscription payment has been made. Alternatively, if you are looking to have the free 30 days and Zhevra mount awarded earlier, you may want to have your friend look into Game Cards as a payment option.
