I was referred by a friend of mine to the game a while back and i finally went ahead and paid for my first month with a credit card. Blizzard billed me for it on the 26th of this month and my friend has already received credit for his free month. When we are partied we are only receiving the normal 200% for being rested. Does this exp only stack on normal exp? Or should I be getting 500% exp when partied with a linked account? Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Edit: we are the same level so its not that

The triple experience bonus does not stack with rested experience. However, it does not overwrite or consume rested experience either. Instead it will push your rested experience back to be saved for when you are not receiving the referral bonus.

If you are not sure if you are getting the triple experience bonus here is a way that you can check in game:

Q u o t e:
How can I tell if I'm receiving triple experience?

Triple experience will be noted in your Combat Log as follows:

"Player gains 'X' experience ('Y' exp Refer-A-Friend bonus)"

The "X" value represents the total amount of experience gained, while the "Y" value represents how much extra experience is gained as a result of the Recruit-A-Friend promotion.

For example: If a monster is normally worth 25 experience (while partied) and you kill it, should you be eligible for triple experience, your Combat Log entry will appear as "Player gains 75 experience (50 exp Refer-A-Friend bonus)".

If after reviewing your combat log it appears that you are not receiving the triple experience bonus then please make sure that all of the following requirements are being met.

  • In order to receive triple experience, you must be partied with a character on a linked account and within 100 yards of one another.

  • You must be within 4 levels of one another and meeting all other triple experiences requisites in order for both characters to receive triple experience. If this level requirement is not met, only the lower level character will receive the bonus.

  • Should monsters or quests be marked as "Low Level" or listed as gray in difficulty for either character, triple experience will not apply.
