Blizzard, let go of Vanilla WoW.

There are people returning from games like WAR and other games that want to start playing WoW again but the leveling process is just needless and pointless and they have zero interest in rolling DKs just to skip level 1-50 and vanilla WoW.

70-80 alone is rough enough, I can't even level my old level 70 shaman to 80 due to the sheer amount of experience required, its 5-6 days of good constant effort of questing and exp'ing. ( I work full time, so translation of 2 weeks give or take)

Let players start at level 50-55 already, you should have started DK's at 1, you already gave us a taste of what its like to start a new class at 55 and skip the entirety of vanilla wow lands, let us start a new character at level 50-55 as long as we have a 70+ on our account.

I know there is a very split field on this decision, I know folks that would love this (Folks that have been playing since 04 and don't want to make character # 50 at level 1) and folks that would hate this (folks playing since 06/TBC onward and folks that enjoy mindless repetitive grinding)

I'm sorry, im confident in my ability to play every class WoW has to offer, why are we still forced to start at level 1, give us veteran account rewards already, it's been 4 years, do you have nothing to offer your loyal customers as every average idiot can get the same gear as we can now after years of raiding experience now means nothing and people just face roll into instances and into full tier gear?

We have made changes to the leveling process in the past that made it go faster. If we feel the need to speed this up again, we will go back and review it. Just don't expect this to happen overnight as a lot of things have to be taken into consideration, we don't want to effectively just delete a zone and put an NPC there that gives you 5 levels as a quest reward so you can go to the next zone - there still needs to be a play experience.

Q u o t e:

ok ...

#1 we dont want to have to grind mobs cause the quests we completed didnt cut the mustard

#2 we dont want to have to do every quest in the zone, ESPECIALLY the group req quests, excessive travel quests, quests drops that dont drop often enough (wtf every goretusk doesnt have a liver? i mean come on!). so dont make us do stupid crap we dont want to do.

Last time I leveled I tried to do every quest in every zone (I'm just that way) and I couldn't do it without doing gray quests because the leveling curve has been increased. I even skipped every dungeon and did it solo the entire way but still ended up skipping a couple zones or at least parts of zones along the way.

The amount of effort needed to revise old azeroth into a play experience worth preserving is pretty large. Off the top of my head, it would require...

-Complete redesign of old world travel. Easiest way would be to make all flight paths instant, the minimum would be to make all flight paths known from the start, like DKs have it. Replacing zeppelins/boats with teleporting orbs would be good too. Quite simply, there is way way way too much time spent traveling in the old world.

-Moving all quest chain starters from major cities to the relevant zones that the quests are concerned with. Whole chains are missed because they start in cities that you may never visit, and might actually be on other continents.

-More heirlooms. Old world gear is baaad.

-Experience multipliers. The heirloom shoulders are a nice start, but expensive and only 10%. More of these kinds of items would be nice, possibly even buyable through reputation rather than badges.

Not all of these are the same priority (travel time is certainly the biggest one), but they all contribute to make leveling a chore in the old world. This list isn't even exhaustive either; it's just what I came up with in the last 2 minutes.

This is exactly why it would take awhile to go and if we decide to change the leveling experience, we will review everything and do it right.
