One small PvP change I'd love

And this isn't even very game-breaking or difficult to do.

I, and most likely the rest of the rogue community, would thoroughly appreciate it if reflective damage such as thorns, Retribution aura, and damage shield would be normalized, or at least have a short internal CD per attacker (like 2 seconds or something, even with increased damage if such a CD was implemented)

Just in case I'm not clear, here's some arbitrary numbers: I hit a target about 15 times in 8 seconds, I deal 6000 damage and take 3750 damage. A class with a 2-hander hits the same target about 4-5 times in 8 seconds, dealing 6000 damage and taking 1000 damage.

I'm not saying the damage from these attacks is "too much" or anything, and I don't want anyone to think I want these skills to be nerfed in the total damage they're capable of against enemies on average.

I just don't like how these kinds of buffs/auras hurt rogues more than any other class due to how many auto attacks we throw out over the course of a fight. It can be very frustrating to fight an opponent and deal as much as 50% of my total health to myself. They deal much more damage to an attacker based on the number of times they hit, which for rogues, is a lot more than most classes (perhaps even every class).

Just another source of QQ on the forums I guess, and I apologize now for my poor english (not my first language)

EDIT: Oops, I meant to say Retribution aura, not Sanctity aura
EDIT2: I'm so retarded, Damage shield, not sword and board.
EDIT3 (made 17 pages into the thread): I'd like to point out some matters that seem to be confusing many posters.

This is a post aimed toward normalizing reflective damage that proc "on-attack" and is not referring to a priest's reflective shield, which deals its damage based on the amount of damage absorbed by the shield. This has been pointed out several times throughout the thread, but I just wanted to make it clear in the OP

This is not a thread saying "I don't like reflective damage period and I think I should take less," it's far from it, I simply want all melee combatants to take the same amount of damage from such skills. This could easily mean I take very similar damage after suggested changes as I do now while other classes take roughly equal damage to me.

Also, the goal of this thread is not to nerf the overall effectiveness of any reflective damage, simple to normalize it's damage against targets. I am hoping that no possible changes have the potential to reduce the threat building ability of tanks with holy shield (which I believe procs on blocks anyway), damage shield, or thorns for feral druids.

One last thing I would like to address, there are FAR too many negative posts in this thread. I kindly ask that posters refrain from needlessly attacking the rogue class and/or myself in this thread and only discuss the suggested changes, if you're for or against them, and related reasons why.

Is it fair that a rogue should be able to stunlock and control you to death without taking damage? Is it fair that a rogue kills him/herself on an enemies' shield? Maybe, maybe not, this is not what this thread is about and I ask that you please stay on-topic, thank you.

Reflective shields being so much stronger versus fast-attacking targets is something we would like to address. It's fine that it's a good defense against them generally speaking, but it has become a little too extreme where you can blow yourself up against something that was designed to be more of a small bonus, not a hard counter.

We're not sure a ppm (proc per minute) implementation is the right way to go in this case, because that might be too generous to the fast attackers, making it too easy for them to just disregard the fact that there is a shield. But there is probably something in between we could come up with.

Please don't respond with "I CANT BELIEVES THEY'RE BUFFING ROGUES." It's still a problem, even if it affects a class that is currently doing quite well in PvP.

EDIT: This is GC, but it is showing for me at least as "Adernaanan," whoever that is. If you are Adernaanan, sorry I ganked your name.
