I am very sorry to hear you are experiencing this, Maxdersor. This is actually a known issue that our Developers hope to have resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime I'm afraid I don't have a work around for this situation. The guards simply don't want to help and we are unable to force them at this time.

My only suggestion to you is perhaps you can find other Death Knights who are on that quest and get them to help take down Patchwerk (the big guy).

this is really not fair.....ha...paying for this...

Currently, yes you are, Maxdersor. If you continue is completely up to you.

Perhaps you would be interested in a specific section of the Terms of Use that state that such issues do arise from time to time? This is the policy you agreed with. That is not to say that we will not resolve such issues as soon as we can but these things can take time.

It isn't about what is fair. It is about what we can do along with how quickly we can do it. When issues like this pop up there isn't a magical screen that tells us exactly what happened and how to resolve the issue in under 5 seconds.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

Ladies and gentlemen, step right up!
This is about the snarkiest you will ever see our great Vrak get! Enjoy it while you can!

I wasn't trying to be snarky, simply make a point. This is a HUGE game, you can test something to death and find nothing wrong but as soon as 11.5 million players log in it can be a completely different matter all together. Bugs happen, that is the nature of games, especially online games and even more so with online games that add as much free content as we do. Our policies are in place because of the inevitable nature of these issues popping up.

If the inevitable issue does arise it takes investigation to find it. First we have to reproduce it, depending on the issue this has varying degrees of difficulty, we then need to find the exact cause of the issue. Once we do that we need to develop a resolution and one that doesn't interfere with anything else so some testing will be involved.

I'd love the magic screen that tells us the where, how and why but that isn't going to happen so we have to take the only road available to us.

Ok, well maybe I did leave a bit of snark in my post. No offense was intended though, I'm a direct person and directness usually comes off as sarcasm. :)

I can't seem to verify on my own though who exactly said it or which exact thread my sig came from. The search function isn't cooperating with me much...

It does sound like me, Surgeoflight, but it is from a very old post I believe and I just can't say for certain. I'll do some digging and see what I can find.

Sorry, Surgeoflight, that thread may be too old, I was unable to find any trace of it.
