3.1 - I'm impressed

There are obvious issues with 3.1 with stability. I remember the patches of yore though, so not surprised. This isn't a "3.1 wasn't ready" post.

What this post is though, is a statement of how I'm impressed.

The dual spec feature was nailed.
The Argent Tournament is a blast, and I can't wait to hit phase 2/3 of my career with them.
People are fighting in other areas of Wintergrasp than just the keep (you can actually *find* players at Glacial Falls and the Chilled Quagmire now for Wintergrasp Ranger)

The game is never finished, and so much to do. I look forward to the item rack feature. If it's anything like the dual spec implementation, wow.

Thanks Hawnek. We're glad you like it. This was a very large content patch and the various teams worked very hard to get this out and available for everyone to start enjoying. We are continuing to iron out the kinks and appreciate continued constructive feedback.

The one Raid zone you refer to is massive in size with 14 bosses plus hard modes.
We added an entire mounted combat system with the Argent Tournament plus new dailies and tied them into the faction system.
We added the Dual Spec System.
We have added some equipment swapping (fly outs when you hold the alt tab when mousing over items in your inventory.) With the Equipment manager itself going in before much longer.
We made a large amount of class changes and balance changes.
We added new items for within Ulduar and the Tournament.
We changed the functionality of Glyph application and made them tie in with your spec as well as saving your hotkey sets with your spec.
We added additional objective tracking so you can track more than one Achievement at a time.
We added an additional 2 hours or so of new music for the Tournament and Ulduar.

This is just the short list. I know it seems deceptive in size, but trust me, this was a very large content patch.

Who does the music for World of Warcraft anyway? I really enjoy the music at the waiting screen, wintergrasp and argent tournament music.

Well, actually almost all the Northrend music is pleasant.

We were able to have David Arkenstone come back and do the Tournament music (he did the new inn music before) and for Ulduar our Director of Audio and Video Russell Brower is at the head of things there for the team.

We have a BlizzCast you might enjoy if you didn't get to hear it when we first previewed the opening music for Wrath of the Lich King. It was between me and Russell Brower. If you haven't heard it, I suggest you give it a listen. Russell discusses the process of creating the music with the rest of the team.

seriously though who would listen to WoW music. I have a little thing called an ipod that plays me stuff that isnt from a video game.

I do and a lot of other people do. It sets the mood very well. Just because you choose not to listen to it, doesn't mean others don't enjoy it. It just means it's not something that suits your personal taste. Though if you haven't listened to it before, I suggest you at least listen once. You may just change your mind.
