this is writen with good will in mind, please troll spare me (seriously please)

im talking on behalf of casual/semi-casual players (if that still has a real meaning)

anyway, im in a 10man raid guild, were relatively well geared and active (dont armory me pls, i was absent for a moment, im not representative of my guild gear level). and we started ulduar, flame leviathan was easy (its all skill and no gear after all) but when we took on the 2 molten colossus before ignis room, it was like fighting 2 patchwerk. and we got our *** handed to ourself.

now for my questions :
1-is there other guilds having that much trouble ?
2-was ulduar meant to be so casual-unfriendly ?
3-will this be changed ? (GM's call that balancing encouters)
4-ppl kept whining about how easy naxx was, is ulduar what raid difficulty really is suppose to be ?

im open to any answers save for the troll-ish kind, if you consider yourself "casual/semi-casual" and your not in accord with what im saying, ill be happy to hear what you have to say.

My tiny little guild gave a half-hearted try at 10-person Ulduar last night. That place is awesome.

Q u o t e:
1-is there other guilds having that much trouble ?

Yes. Obviously there are many guilds in many different stages of progression. While it is still early on, and some raid attempts have been delayed or canceled due to realm and instance issues Tuesday and Wednesday, most guilds are struggling to get past the first couple of bosses.

Q u o t e:
2-was ulduar meant to be so casual-unfriendly ?

No, but it's meant to be harder than Naxxramas, and players will find some "gear checks." Keep in mind also that tricks to defeating bosses in Ulduar aren't so common knowledge as they were with Naxxramas, since the mechanics of those fights did not fundamentally change from the level 60 version.

Q u o t e:
3-will this be changed ? (GM's call that balancing encouters)

We are evaluating some of the encounters. We'll provide more information if we feel further tuning is needed.

These encounters should definitely be a new level of challenge for the average guild in Wrath of the Lich King. With that said, the type of difficulty of each encounter is being analyzed. For instance, if a boss is going to swing twice at a tank resulting in astronomical amounts of damage in a matter of seconds, that's a degree of difficulty that's worth further scrutinizing.

Q u o t e:
4-ppl kept whining about how easy naxx was, is ulduar what raid difficulty really is suppose to be ?

It's a step in that direction, and we think it's a pretty fair step. The average guild should expect to need to spend some time progressing through this instance. Your guild probably isn't going to have this place on farm in the next week or so, Dreadstein, nor is mine for that matter.

You'll see the degree of difficulty continue to rise with each tier of content. Casual or no though, with the proper amount of coordination and gear, we expect Ulduar to be doable.

Q u o t e:
really where did he ask for help or advise? all I got out of his post was

Ulduar is hard

Why isn't it easier

WAAAAAAHHHH

That's not at all what I got out of his post. Let's please not bring every thread to its lowest common denominator. After an afternoon discussing Ulduar being too easy due to the fact that a guild killed Yogg-Sarron, it's refreshing to see some questions from the players who have given it a try and found it to be quite challenging.

I saw honest questions, not complaints. :)

Q u o t e:
i personally think it's awesome, going into a new instance, with no knowledge, and being rocked by trash because you have no clue what theyre going to do (flaming tornado... holy jebus)

Tell me about it. Those tornadoes were a brutal surprise for the better part of my raid.
