Why does it cost 100% mana to change to your off spec? I can see 50% since other classes don't have to sit on thier backsides and regen. that is just retarded casters get penelized and others don't... More blizzard thinking out thier yeah that part.

We really wanted to make switching between specs a conscientious choice. We didn't want the switch to have an instantaneous result so that when you do switch specs, you're most likely going to be playing in that spec for awhile before swapping again. This resets all mana and resources for a short period before you can get back in action. So choose when and where to switch carefully. While melee may recover slightly quicker, it doesn't preclude them from this small cost.

Remember, we previously had discussed that you would need a Lexicon of Power to make the switch, so we believe this is a better alternative allowing you to change your spec anytime and anywhere (Arena, Battlegrounds and in combat excepted.)

It's a new system and it's going to take some time before everyone gets comfortable with it (or not) but constructive feedback is always welcome.

We are very thankful for the absencia of the Lexicon for the change but why penalize anyone. Delete the penalties; this way it will be fair for all classes and the 1Kg cost should be sufficient enough.

Dual spec isn't meant to add the ability to essentially be two specs at once, thus why there is a small cost to switch between them. You should have to still invest play time into the specs you choose to use.

I think it's not beyond understanding that this is causing some people a degree of concern. I don't see a point in further insults carrying on in this thread, so please refrain from continuing with this line of discussion.

We're open to constructive feedback and will continue to assess the effect that the spirit change has had on things such as regaining mana while out of combat/casting. We're also aware of the concern over things such as how much mana water gives back.

I think that at current we're still in the beginning stages of seeing the fully released patch in the wider population's hands and the changes and new systems in place will need some time for people to either get used to or confirm that they aren't quite working out as well as people would like. If we've been too conservative, then it merely opens up opportunity for us to let the line out a little more if we need to.

Neth, this thread to me seems to be about the disparity in recovery time from spec swapping between the class, spirit regen different topic, water starting to lag again... once again different topic.

A large part of me just doesn't want to believe you think setting mana/rage/energy/RP to zero affects all classes to a similar degree. as I stated before the recovery time after spec swapping I think it should be the same for everyone because it is a common mechanic between all classes

I don't believe they are unrelated topics. The most common concern I'm seeing isn't even that the mana cost is 100%, but that the time to regen is a bit slow as compared to the recovery time for others. While I'm sure some would like there to be no cost at all, we've added a cost for a reason.
