Update -- 10:50pm PST -- 12:50am CST (4/15):

I have been informed that the issues being experienced with the realms is two-fold; the issue that was being experienced initially should be resolved at this time. However, as the realms are being brought up after they go down, they are being overwhelmed with the number of players attempting to connect to them at the same time as quickly as possible.

Because of this, it is possible that they will to go down again immediately after starting up again. It is recommended that, when your realm comes back online, you give it a few minutes to populate and stabilize before logging into it again.

We certainly understand the frustration that this is causing all of you, and our technicians are working to resolve the matter and get all of you back online and playing. We are also closely monitoring the situation to ensure that no other issues are being experienced from this point forward.

Thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues. Please keep us informed of any other issues that you experience.

We are aware of the various issues that are being experienced on the realms and are presently working to resolve them as quickly as possible. In order to consolidate our information, and allow for a discussion regarding the matter at hand, please keep all comments regarding issues that you have experienced in this thread, and appropriate.

Should you find that your character is stuck — in an instance, or otherwise — please report the issue to our in-game support staff. Please make sure to use the "Character Stuck" button when submitting a ticket of this kind as well as including as much information regarding your issue as possible (character name/realm, etc).

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter while we work to resolve any issues that are presently being experienced.

While I'd love to provide an ETA of when these issues will be alleviated, I unfortunately do not have one to provide at this time.

While the actual symptoms may appear different, they're all the same. The apparent symptoms are simply going to vary from realm to realm.

Folks, latest update.

We have just been informed that a period of maintenance is going to commence in roughly an hour.

Should be more details up on the Server Status page soon.

I know this is very inconvenient, and I am terribly sorry, but this is necessary to continue addressing issues.

We'll do our best to keep you posted with any further details as they are forthcoming.

Quite honestly, I waited last night hoping for a fix, saw this post and was hopeful it was all working. It apparently isn't fixed.

I did everything suggested in the post about this issue, I have no firewall problems, the patch downloaded fine, etc..my internet is obviously working, no router issues, etc..etc..

What exactly should I do now?

Actually, you reach the Login Server long before the realms, that may be another issue entirely, perhaps even connectivity.

Our tech folks will be in before long, you may want to pop into that forum. If this is connectivity that's a bit beyond my expertise.

Haven't heard on that list yet, although I know they will try to have them back as quickly as possible.

o ok, thx orlyia :D both my highest lvl toons r stuck in dalaran still and havent been able to access them since about 9 or 10ish last nite all my other toons play fine.

With Dalaran in particular, have you tried logging in with all addons disabled?
