Hey Blizz!

I'm trying to transfer a char from Malfurion to Azuremist. After selecting the realms (yes the realm to transfer to is eligible) I get a generic..."An Error occured" message.

Any help would be wonderful!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Bunnah.

We have received several reports of this issue when attempting either a paid character transfer or a free character move.

The majority of these reports include either characters not being displayed when selecting the source realm for a transfer, or players receiving the same error message you have.

While I do not have an ETA for when the issue will be fully resolved, we are currently investigating the issue, and any updates on the matter will be posted here as they become available.

Just tried it as well and worked!

I'm glad to hear that, Bunnah. It would appear that things are moving toward a resolution.

However, I would like to let everyone know that it has come to our attention that players that have successfully submitted a character transfer may be experiencing an extended wait time for their transfer to be approved. It is very likely that this situation is directly related the other issues discussed in this thread, and it is also being investigated.

Thank you for your continue patience in this matter.

O YAY since I stopped it and restarted it at 2am last night I got double charged. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

moo

and by moo i mean ;(

It is very likely that at least one, if not both of the charges that you are seeing are in a pending status, Fuzzy. Although the funds may be set aside by your financial institution as part of the authorization process, they should not be collected until after the transfer has completed.

As the first transfer request was canceled, we should not collect the pending charge that you see for that original attempt. Instead, charges of this kind will generally be reversed automatically within three to five business days. However, please keep in mind that some financial institutions may hold these funds for longer.

Thank you everyone for hanging in there.

At this point, the error that was preventing players from being able to submit a new character transfer should be resolved, and we now expect to start seeing transfers process as normal. However, there still may be a delay due to current quantity of transfer requests in line.

If you continue receive an error message when attempting to submit a new transfer request, please reply with the exact error message you are receiving and at what step it is coming up.

I'm having issues too. I transferred this character from Blackrock > Drak'Tharon about 14 hours ago. It's a paid transfer, which my card has already been charged for. Just wanted to check with everyone else, I'm still able to jump onto this char and play him. It says on the FAQ that I shouldn't be able to play my character while it is pending for transfer.

Is this happening to everyone else? Thought I should check because I haven't heard anyone else mention it.

I can confirm that this character is currently listed as undergoing a transfer, Dahri. While you may be able to access him on the source realm, I would not encourage doing so as it may cause additional delays.

An error with the transfer was mentioned but does that mean we should cancel the existing submission and restart the process or is the issue resolved and those transfers in queue are now being processed? Sorry, the Blue was a little unclear

If you successfully submitted the transfer request, and you are able to see the character listed under the appropriate transactions page, then you should not need to cancel or resubmit the character transfer. Players may check to see their character transfer status via the following links:

Paid Character Transfer Transactions page
https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/character-transfer-status.html

Free Character Move Status Page

In your case, Ugrimii, I can confirm that your paid character transfer request has been received and it is currently in line to be processed.
