T8 with Badges of Valor, yes or no??

Ok, for some reason I have heard both answers and no one seems to know for sure. When I first heard of this "rumor" I decided to save all of my Badges of Valor in the hopes that I could immediately buy one or two peices of 10 man T8 gear to get off to a good start for Ulduar.

Is their any kind of confirmation or denial that T8 gear will be accessible with Badges of Valor?? Thank you.

We don't want piling up a bunch of emblems now to give a big advantage when a patch launches where someone buys a set of gear from the beginning.

Currently the only items I noticed added to the emblem of valor quartermaster are the relic items that were in Naxx. Examples: Sigil of Awareness, Idol of Awakening, Libram of Resurgence, Totem of Hex, etc. While it is technically "old" gear, the emblems of valor that drop in Ulduar10 will give you access to items that are of the appropriate level to help progress in that dungeon.

The emblems of conquest that drop from Ulduar25 have a new quartermaster and a new set of items that go with it that include necks, belts, gloves, and leg slot items.

So no way to buy 10man gear with Valor later on if you never see your "token" drop? Seems odd as 7.5 and 8.0 should both be ilvl 213.

You just can't get the Ulduar tier token drop, but the Naxx valorous pieces are ilevel 213 so the pieces you can buy from the emblems of valor are the right level, it's just an issue on set bonuses not lining up until you get the pieces straight from Ulduar.

Q u o t e:

I was woundering, will it be added in the future maybe ? I don't know patch 3.2 maybe ?

It's possible things will get added in the future like a couple of the token drops, no guarantees though.

So at some point in time will we be able to buy Tier 8 gear with Emblems of Valor or is all the gear, sans the relics, already up there that we will ever be able to buy?

The best way to say it is don't expect anything to get added to the Emblem of Valor Quartermaster, we will see if we feel more should be added in the future as adding items is always a possibility, there just are no definite plans to do it.

I understand the reasoning, but it still stinks that they took the problem with fighting over tokens and gave a reasonable fallback for it, then decided not to keep it up.

We are keeping it up, there are chest and helm tokens from emblems of conquest.

Q u o t e:
My largest problem is a lack of things to buy with the Valor Emblems.

With Heroism, even after getting all the fat loot I want, I could still get heirloom items, gems, and frozen orbs.

With Conquest, I can pick up Runed Orbs for selling on the Auction House.

With Valor, there's the epic bracer market which is rapidly collapsing. It would be nice to have something else there to fill in the gap.

This is why we added in the ability to trade down the emblems, so you can an emblem of heroism from an emblem of valor and buy the heirloom items and such if you still need them.

Disheartening as there is nothing worth buying there already. Running 10man primarily I'll have the same tokens I dont know what to do with now.

It looks like you already have numerous valorous pieces on your armory page, so you are a bit ahead of the 10player progression patch. The goal is to make it so you can go from one player dungeon to the next without hitting the 25 player one. The players in this position will be able to start buying valorous gear to fill in extra slots as they progress through Ulduar10 and increase their overall gear around what they get from drops.

Yes, Ulduar10 gear is slightly higher (ilevel 219) than some of the normal Naxx25 (ilevel 213) drops, but it is only half a tier better, so it isn't an overly drastic amount. In the end, the emblems of valor will allow players to purchase ilevel 213 items which are an improvement over the normal Naxx10 (ilevel 200) drops which will help them progress.

Q u o t e:
So a 10 man raiding guild will receive valor badges to purchase 7.5 gear. The tier 8 and 8.5 gear will be accessible how?

Tier 8.5 is bought with emblems of Conquest. We know this as they are all there on the vendor/tier token turn in vendor. How is tier 8 accessible? Is it to drop in UD10 off bosses?

Tier 8.10 or however you want to say it will drop off the bosses in Ulduar10 as usual. Tier 8.5 or 8.25, will drop off the Ulduar25 bosses and have 2 pieces available through emblems of conquest, you need like 50 of them to purchase one of these tokens.

You should have at least put one token from Ulduar 10 man for valor badges. Maybe Gloves for 85 valor badges.
When Sunwell came out, you had items on the island that were on par with items from BT/Hyjal but raised the price by a lot using the same Badges of Justice. Why cant the same design be taken here?

We did not like how the Sunwell badge farming extravaganza turned out and want to do something different/better. The Sunwell isle method promoted farming Karazhan (or naxx in this case) until the end of time and instead we are trying to push progression forward.

I appreciate the responses from the Bornakk.

However they are still not very clear, there is too much room for interpretation.

Bornakk, at this point in time are there any plans to add more gear to valor token vendors for 3.1? Things may change. That is always true with WoW. However, we are only concerned with the day 3.1 goes live.

I say anything can change because until the patch is live nothing is for sure, but at this point in time the only things we plan to add to the Emblem of Valor Quartermaster are the relic items out of Naxxramas.

I'm very thankful for your continued responses in this thread. It clears up a lot of questions I know I had.

One that I haven't seen answered though is why are only the relics out of 25m Naxx being added to the vendor? I am not complaining, I would love to have more choices for Idols, but I see this as limited to only 4 classes.

Because relic items are very class and spell specific we felt they were different enough to add on to the vendor. You can't exactly get the relic anywhere else and there is no replacement, like you can have multiple kinds of weapons to dps with - yeah, some are better than others, but they will all work - if you want a relic to improve a certain spell, there is likely only one option and we didn't want to say "have fun running naxx!" to get it.
