ok so i have not played the game for almost 2 months but just last week i turn the account back on for my son to play. close to a week passes and next thing i know my son tells me he can't log on to wow and when i check my account it says i have been banned for ECONOMY EXPLOITING... um what just happened?
i emailed wowadmin and now im waiting for a response. did my son do something wrong that im not aware of? he is only 9 years old so he really didnt tell me much about what he was doing in game and i didnt think no harm could come from letting him play my account.

i have been given suspension many years back for bad language but never account termination so i need advice to fix this.

Also, once you are certain your system is clear, I'd highly recommend changing your email password as well.

Compromised accounts having actions taken against them is common. They don't steal accounts to do nice things with them :)

Account Administration can sort all this out for you if you were compromised.

A few things to remember about malware.

Not all scanners can pick up all infections. This is especially true of 'virus' scanners, and malware commonly known as keyloggers. I'd recommend running one for viruses and one specifically for keyloggers/spyware at a minimum.

It's entirely possible to have multiple infections on the same system.

It's very important to update your scanning software with EVERY use, or at the very least check for an update. Malware can morph quickly, scanners have to update to find them.

If you do any credit card transactions or banking from that system, you might want to keep an eye on those as well. Folks that put malware on a system will grab any information they can use, including personal identification information for identity theft.

I do wish you all the best of luck.
