The Barrens... abandoned.... is it the end?

So for the past 4 years, the barrens have always been buzzing with newbish activity. "WHERE IS MANKRIK'S WIFE!?!?!?!"

Well, actually having a fresh supply of newbs leveling up is a good sign for the health of warcraft in general in my opinion.

But strangely, the last time i ran through the Barrens it was dead silent... eerily silent.

Does it mean new players have stopped joining the wow-craze? Does it mean people have stopped making alts? Does it mean that people have decided that doing 1 to 80 all over again is just not worth it? Are 100% of rerolls now death knights? zomg what does it all mean!

well, I for one am considering starting a new character(80 gets boring pretty fast!). I'm just worried that I will be leveling up in a ghost-town. It bites not having people to quest/grind with.

It probably depends on the realm, to be honest. Consider though, for a long while in order to do Warsong Gulch, you had to queue in front of the battleground, thus turning the Barrens into a melting pot of players ranging from level 10 to 60.

That element is gone from the Barrens now, so generally city trade chat is now the social center place for...nearly everything.
