Possibly WoWs Darkest Hour

I have been a long time fan of this game and have loved the time i have spent playing this game and diving into its content. Everything from the story line to raid encounters and even the ever unbalanced PVP. However there have been a few things that are making me think about looking to a new form of MMO entertainment.

Problems

1. DKs. This was the best and worst idea blizz has ever come up with. There are way to many of them, they are beyond overpowered, and extremely to easy to level. With the addition of being able to make a DK on any server starting at 55, this has caused a huge population overload and it is not fair to Rogues, Mages, and Druids who have to share Tier Tokens with them. Almost every raid that you can pick up right now is half full of classes that share this token.

2. Most Unbalanced, and non existent PVP. Currently PVP has been reduced to WG every few hours. Arenas have seemed to have gone down to "play this class or loose", and as far as battlegrounds, they have little to no use, and when you play them the lopsided numbers are upsetting.

3. Raids are to Easy. When you can slap 25 warm bodies in a raid clear content with out the use of vent or any raid assists, or even have most members have a clue as to the details of the fight, You loose the camaraderie of guild raiding. Though it is nice to not have to farm for hours to grab consumables to down new content, the lack of coordination for these fights has made them quite boring.

4. Recycling of Gear. Blizz had been re coloring gear and handing it back to us over and over and over again. We have seen amazing things come out of blizzard as far as animation and creativity. Dragonblight is absolutely beautiful, and storm peaks is a three dimensional master piece. But the re hashing of the same looking weapons and armour is getting old. Three sets of gear that are all revamps of T3 is just lazy after seeing what you are capable of. And for god sakes give druids something else to look at when in bear, cat, tree, and Moonkin form. They should be able to look like they are progressing like the rest of us. When i look at the face of Bear form, or Horde Cat form I can only think how much Blizzards Graphics team should feel ashamed of themselves for letting this go for so long.

I Hope that Blue posters will use some of this criticism to keep these potential problems form possibly destroying a game that i love so much.

Thank you,
Rexes

These criticisms have been heard.

1) DK's are being adjusted (next patch, in fact).

2) Your glasses are rose-colored. This is not the most unbalanced and nonexistent state of PvP. Long ago, before there were Battlegrounds, there was very little PvP.. just small skirmishes centered around Tarren Mill/Southshore. As for the unbalanced portion of your statement, balance is truly an ongoing evolution. In the past, players used to say the very same thing only with different classes at the forefront. Classes like Warlock, Shaman, or Warriors took the heat back then. Compared to the imbalances that existed in the past, those that exist today are far less rampant.

3) Naxxramos and Sartharion were not meant to be the same difficulty as other release-level raids. We intended for them to be warm-up, introductory raids. Still, we admit that maybe they were just a little too easy. Well, fret not, Ulduar is on the way and Algalon the Observer is here to sate your hunger for the hardcore.

4) This is another issue that has been addressed time and again. We simply did not want players to have the same experience that they encountered leveling up and getting geared up in BC. This is a design philosophy that we think is working well. There is far less mismatched gear and the textures and quality of the gear is far better than it has been in the past.

So in conclusion, thank you for your input and the time that you took to put together a post like this.

I hope some of these answers have assuaged your concerns.

These two concern me the most.

His statement that this is the "most" unbalanced pvp has been is refutable, but that doesn't mean this isn't some of the worst it's been in a long time. And those same battlegrounds that you mention created a lot of pvp are being largely ignored by players who used to fill them up, because they simply aren't as rewarding as they once were. The inability to translate BG rewards into comparable (note, this doesn't mean the best) pve gear makes it a system setup for failure, IMO. You can argue all you want about why BG's should/shouldn't reward gear that's useful in pve, but the bottom line is it was fun, and not in a way that necessarily shattered game balance or mechanics.

As far as gear goes, I guess this really comes down to a matter of preference. But personally, it gets really hard to stomach the recycled models after awhile. Part of the excitement of getting new gear is the new look. By recycling so many models, you take away part of the excitement. Yes, there were times people looked a bit silly in the past in gear that didn't match, but this also made it all the more exciting when you got gear that did. It's just like the system GC said was already set up for gear in WoTLK, where lesser gear is itemized less ideally to make the newer gear seem even more pro.

We understand that there are some issues with Battlegrounds and the feeling that this portion of the game should be more fundamental and chalked full of incentive. These are discussions that are currently on-going and we don't have any juicy details to give on their outcome just yet.
