A Little Upset With Blizzard

I'm a little upset with Blizzard right now. "Ohnoes, why?", you ask?

Try not to take this as whining, shouting, angry... just a little upset.

Let's jump right in...

Naxx was intended to be the starting instance of WOTLK, and was so easy for casuals. This was supposed to be fine, as Blizzard assured the paying public that a huge content patch would be coming very soon after Wrath launched.

It's now been 5 months?? since Wrath launched and that patch has still not yet arrived. I believe we passed "very soon" 3-4 months ago.

My first MMO was Anarchy Online in 2001, I was a Guardian of Ark for 2 years. I have dabbled in DAOC, EQ2, EVE, Warhammer, and some others.

I understand that every game makes mistakes, hence I'm only a little upset and not over the top irate which would be silly.

To those who said I take the game for granted:

Probably the most ridiculous statement posted in this thread. I pay for this game, and have (off and on) since it's release. I understand content takes time, but when there is content advertised, and promises made, I expect people to follow through.

There is a fanboy mentality that is always scared to criticise anything going on in the gaming world, because a geek at their core wants to support the gaming industry, even in lieu of those who exploit it.
Now I'm not saying this is what Blizzard is doing, but I do understand the mentality of the knee jerk defense that many give gaming companies.

Try to be objective is all I ask, it's not like Blizzard isn't infamous for bringing out content extremely slow in the name of perfection.

Q u o t e:

They have far less people working on WoW now than in earlier years.

Actually, we have far more people working on WoW than ever.

Q u o t e:
IF you think its disappointing that it took them 5 to 6 months to release 1 patch. Just wait to see whats actually in the patch.

Many of the class changes didn't even make this patch and will have to be pushed over to the next content patch that will probably be right before the next expansion(if there is one, there might not be one)

Not even the equipment manager which isn't exactly ground breaking didn't make it this patch and got pushed ahead.

I am not sure where you get your information, but do yourself a favor and cut them off. There weren't any class changes that didn't make it into this patch that are now being planned for the next patch. Class balance changes just don't work like that.

If you're referring to the hunter ammunition change, that's not quite as simple as just a "normal class change", and we decided to wait on that because we have some cool plans for how we're going to design the change.

Q u o t e:
Do not expect anything major before the next expansion that will probably hit sometime next year(if there is one, its not looking like there will be). They simply don't have any people working on this game anymore as they shifted their focus to other things.

WoW is basically being milked. This game is no longer their main focus for obvious reasons(subscribers continue to decline and they need developers on other games to get them released, also they are working on a new MMO).

You really have no idea what you're talking about, friend. I've known people throughout my life that speak from the same location as you do now. It's always quite sad to witness.

The human spirit can only take these forums so much! Turn back while you still can!

We've tested it time and time again. The human spirit can only survive on these forums for eight hours.

I thought the disc priest group bubble thing got pushed back? Did I hear wrong?

No, we decided against that change completely.

I find it really great how the communication is on this item. Considering the last update that was put out about this from GC himself was...

"We'd still like to do Barrier, but some of the revamps ended up more extensive than we planned. At this point we'd rather make what we have taste good instead of throwing new ingredients into the stew, but it's an idea we still like.

Believe it or not, hymns are still being worked on. Now that the squid works a little better, Hymn of Hope has even less of a role.

EDIT: Argh. I answered a GC thread. I'm tired. :( "

I can link the thread if you like, though I am sure you can find it. So if something is "coming" and then gets completely tossed into the trash maybe you could bother to post something about that next time.

I am aware of the post. We were considering a "power barrier" for discipline 3.1.0, as we do think it's a really cool idea. With that being said, it's not something currently on our to-do list, but it's possible we could revisit the idea somewhere down the road.
