Stolen 60-day prepaid card.

Yesterday (4/7) I went with my friend to pick up a 60-day prepaid WoW card from Target.

There was ... a slit in the plastic wrapping of the box. I didn't think much of it, paid 30$, and we returned to my friend's house.

I then found out that the card inside the case was gone. Someone must have stolen the card with the code straight out of the box while it was still sitting on the shelf in Target. In retrospect I should've been suspicious at a case that wasn't completely sealed, but this is the first time I have been the victim of such a 'scam.'

Well, needless to say I'm angry, since my sub is running out on the 13th and I don't have the money to be paying $60 for 60 days of WoW.

I asked some friends for advice and they all said I should try contacting customer service about this, so here I am. They say that WoW card theft is fairly common.

If needed I can provide the address of the Target I bought the .. empty box .. from, the receipt, and the code for the free trial that was included in the box. (Only the card was stolen, the pamphlet and free trial codes were still there.)

Help would be much appreciated.

Always be very suspicious of any kind of package tampering when it comes to anything software related, Elumine - but I think you realize that now :)

I'd first try to take this back to where you bought it from. You are more than welcome to call our Billing department, but I'm not sure they'll be able to do anything from our end. This really is more of a store theft issue.

Here are the numbers for Billing if you need them.
