Battlegrounds

We've been seeing the same battlegrounds for like 5 years now- the structural ideas are fine, but why not more maps for the same idea?

Ideas:
Queue for Capture the Flag: Option of let's say, 3 maps, WSG, New, New
Queue for Base Control: AB, Blah, Blah

By doing this, it'll spice up PvP a lot, not require incredibly difficult new ideas, but just land design that can change up the mechanisms of PvP.

Just imagine a capture the flag that didn't happen in WSG, but some differently constructed map- it'd change up the style completely!

just thoughts!

This has come up in the past, but making the maps is not easy to do and does take a lot of time. Along with it, the queue system would need some major rework to be picking not just a Battleground but either picking or randomly selecting a map. And before you mention it, the last time we brought this up it wasn't an easy solution like "copy the Arena queue" - it is supposed to take a lot more work than that.

All that aside, this is something we would like to do, but generally we have been focusing on brand new Battlegrounds and new formats - as we continue to expand on the formats though there is a possibility of new maps of the same formats coming into plate, nothing for sure at this time though.

why not random generated maps? like in diablo...

edit: oh and my first first yay

Balance would probably even more messed up in a case like this and players often bring up balance as an issue in BGs. Plus this would be a slightly massive undertaking (assuming it is even possible), as the maps in WoW function a little differently than the diablo ones, heh.

And?

You guys do a great job and this is a great game overall. But the "resources" excuse is getting old from a company that is highly succesful for multiple years.

This line was kind of funny even if you did not mean it that way. I mean sure we are successful, but that comes with managing resources properly as well. We have to carefully consider what will provide the best benefit for the game on everything we make - it might not always work out great, but that is considered for everything we do.
