Warlock Customization Feedback - name issues

Hey y’all

The new warlock pet customization system is currently implemented. As it stands right now, the “names” of our greater demons (Fel Imp, Shivarra, Wrathguard, and Voidlord, noting once more that Observer being removed sucks A LOT and should be reverted) are LOST in the new system.

Eg my Fel Imp’s name on Live is named Fizle while my default Imp is Jubjub

Right now, my imp is ALWAYS named Jubjub. I lose Fizle forever.

Similarly, my Voidwalker is Thulgore. My Voidlord is Metasius. I lose Metasius forever.

The Succubus and Shivarra are likewise affected: My Shivarra Aliriah is lost forever and has the name of my baseline succubus, Elerrah, while my Incubus Hesomen (lol) retains his name entirely.

Likewise, even though we have Shadow Succubus and Fel Succubus learned on any given spec on Live, it appears that we have to relearn it on PTR regardless of such.

Presumably this is a bug, as my Wrathguard retains his name on PTR separate from the Felguard entirely.

But confirmation of such would be greatly appreciated.

I personally think it would be best for each separate demon appearance to have its own name rather than the same name with different appearances, to drive home the RP-factor that we are summoning different demons via different grimoires.

Reiterating once more that removing the Observer sucks terribly, and quite frankly having the Doomguard there feels silly given that ain’t nobody using Ritual of Doom.

The Doomguard demon type should be how Demo customizes Demonic Tyrant and how Aff customizes Darkglare IMHO.

Hyperfixating on silhouette really guts this entire system from the get-go and leaves dozens of demon AND ABERRATION models gathering dust.

Eg Aranansi (spider women demons), Imp Mothers, the wide variety of Moarg demons, etc

Additionally, strongly suggest (for the sake of RP and cool factor) letting the demon customization screen appear with our warlock trainers and maybe a floating grimoire in Dreadscar Rift.

Please think of Fizle, Metasius, Aliriah, and (most importantly) Gorgok :frowning:

Greetings, Warlocks.

As several of you have noted, some of your demons have had their long-standing names lost with the new demon customization coming in Fractures in Time. We’re working on a fix for this, but we want to be clear on what you can expect when the patch goes live.

Once the patch is live in your region, we’re disabling several glyphs that previously were the only means of customizing your demon appearances. When you log in for the first time, your demon may no longer be summoned, and you will have to summon them again. Your summoned demon appearances will be reset to the default versions and will have a different name that matches the name associated with the default pet appearance.

Once you’re logged into Fractures in Time, you can start unlocking new customizations, such as the Grimoire of the Fel Imp. Once unlocked, you can go to the Barber Shop and change your imp’s appearance to the newly unlocked Fel Imp appearance. When finished at the Barber Shop, any previously glyphed or default demon appearances that you’re applying will either use the demon’s previously saved names, or if it is your first time using this appearance, a random new demon name.

This should be the case for any previous glyphed appearances you were using. To be clear: this does not mean that each summoned demon color and style combination has its own unique name now. This solution is only applicable to any glyphed demons you were using. The red, green, blue (yellow, orange, etc.) Fel Imps will all have the same name.

We’re excited about the new demon customizations, and we have a lot of new colors and styles being offered for you to use, with possibly a few more coming in future updates.

Thank you all for the feedback on this issue. The above changes should be testable in the next build of the Fractures in Time PTR.
