When I got back home, I was contacted by a Blizzard representative, via e-mail.

Please see the attached e-mail below, to share in my frustration and outrage at what Blizzard did to my account:

Subject: World of Warcraft Account Password Recovery
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

A request for a new password for your World of Warcraft Account has been received. Your new temporary password is: <removed>.

For the continued security of the account we recommend that you take the following steps prior to logging in to your account:

- Log in to your Account Management page at https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account

- Verify that your contact information is accurate and update it if necessary.

- Create a new, not-easily guessed, secure personal password; an example of this may include letters and numbers.

- Please be sure to scan the computer system you are using to remove all viruses, Trojan files, and key loggers.

- Maintain safe Internet practices and safeguard all World of Warcraft account information for the most secure gaming experience.

Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment!

Now I have never had any run-ins with Blizzard in the past, and have not shared my account information with anyone.

Why I would be sent an e-mail from Blizzard is beyond me.

Have any of the rest of you been accused of similar activities?

I need to get the word out about the atrocities of the password reset function.
