Casino - Why do I get reported?

According to numerous BLUE posts on the wow forums, casino's can be run as long as you are not "spamming" or "scamming". I have had many satisfied customers that play the /roll game. Not one of them was scammed in anyway and they are all treated with respect.

I only advertise my casino once every 2-5 minutes in a /Yell and not in any local or trade channels. There are plenty of people that spam for services in local and trade channels more often then this.

I think a lot of the confusion comes into the equation because people do not know that casino's are not against the TOS anymore.

Here is the message I get from a Game Master twice now:

Q u o t e:
Greetings ,

A user on this account was found to be publicly advertising for services outside the scope of those permitted by the realm populous. Given the volume of reports received regarding this advertisement, we will be upholding this decision. Consider this email notification that advertising of this type has been deemed disruptive by your peers and should not continue in public channels.

Understand that should this activity continue, a temporary silence will be placed on the disruptive character disabling their ability to communicate in public channels for up to 24 hours. This is done in an effort to allow a realm to police itself, no official action is being taken against your account at this time. Please keep our gaming policies (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20309) and Terms of Use (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/termsofuse.shtml) in mind during any of your time inside the World of Warcraft.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Regards,
XXXXXXXXX

I responded to a similar thread yesterday, which I'll quote parts of here:

The e-mail is basically saying, that those on your realm have expressed their disdain for such advertisements in public channels and if you continue to advertise in those public channels your chat ability may be temporarily removed.

All complaints we receive are reviewed by our Game Master staff and we take action whenever the situation merits it.

To clarify a part of the e-mail that was sent.

Your peers are policing their own realm and have deemed your advertisements as inappropriate for their environment. This email represents merely a warning, but if these advertising activities continue you could temporarily lose the ability to speak in public channels.

Although casinos are not technically against our Terms of Use as of this moment, we do recognize the negative impact that such advertisements and activities in public channels can have on a realm's community.

well actually, 'populous' is spelt correctly. However, it's the wrong word to use in that context!

Aye, new e-mails should have the correct word. :) Thanks for catching that, Teufelgott.
