One day ban for saying a racial slur. What?

I said a racial slur right as the servers were shutting down, like 30 seconds prior.

I get a one day ban.

Shouldn't I just get a warning, or a 3 day ban?

[Removed]

This was not the account the offense was committed on.

I'm just curious why I received a one day ban instead of a warning / 3 hour ban.

The offense was "Paying 500 gold to the last person to say ******." in trade chat.

That was it.

I'm just curious why I didn't get the usual 3 hour or warning this time.

You may want to consider that there comes a point where we're not longer giving you warnings, but rather letting you know that this behavior will not be tolerated in any fashion.

If you've been given a number of warnings in the past for saying such things, you can count yourself lucky that you've not received harsher actions against your account.

There is no place for racial slurs within the World of Warcraft, for any reason. Stop using them, even if as a joke. If you continue with this kind of behavior, you're likely to find yourself without an account, Oraneir. =/

It was 30 seconds before the realms shut down, who cares? Seriously. It's the internet.

We care.

I don't image it would, as you can simply just put me on ignore.

Oh, you'd be surprised. ^_^

As much as I love arguing semantics, it's not adding the discussion in a positive manner, so I've locked this thread.
