Should Warriors always get tanking priority?

How does your guild handle the warrior tanks when you have an extra tank for a fight?

Do you always have the warrior(s) tanking instead of the Pally/DK/Druid since their DPS is complete !!## if something isn't hitting them?

Offtanking druids, DKs, and paladins do more damage than warriors, so the warrior tanks and the others can dps. This could easily change with dual specs though, I predict a rolling system will be implemented in my guild.

In before this is touted as the official Blizzard stance that Warriors are supposed to be the main tanks.

Anyway, yea, if people aren't respeccing, the warriors probably should be tanking when you don't need many tanks.

Depending on the exact details of the dual spec system when it goes live though, I'll be ready to go dps spec for those kinds of fights.

This is the official Blizzard sta... oh dang, you beat me to it. :-p

We have been looking a bit into increasing warrior-off tank dps a bit, but I can't say there will be any vast changes in 3.1 on that end of things.

Some others brought up that switching out the character is what they would do instead of having a warrior switch to dps, this is an option of course, in my guild we would only do this on fights where dps is very crucial. Once we start getting things down the warrior will pick up whatever dps pieces he can and will do okay on dps if needed, it won't hurt things too much and they will do more damage than a not-getting hit in prot warrior, heh.
