Well, let's use your referenced time line: EVER.
I would argue our solar system won't last on that time line. So too will WoW probably end in human existence.

i have to suspect that the fate of WoW can't be much different than that of EQ. i mean, a few losers will still be playing WoW in 20 years, just like with everquest now. the vast majority will move on. we're living in crazy times, so it's hard to say what the world will look like in 20 years, much less the gaming industry.
I only hope to be one of the losers supporting those left in 20 years. :p
