I know its been said that the season will be ending with the next patch, but can anyone tell me if its going to end this week or next. I need just one more week for my next purchase with my points and it would be helpful if anybody (aka blizzard) could provide me with a date or time when the reset will occur. I don't want to log in one day and see my 1k plus points down to 0, i will be really mad

There will be a week between the end of season 5 and the start of season 6 where players will have time to spend points they've earned.

In other words, you'll have one week from the day 3.1 hits to spend your points.

This confuses me a little - let's say hypothetically season 5 ends tomorrow - from your wording, season 6 will start the next tuesday. So there'll basically be a "dead" week for arena when there is no season going on at all?

Correct. We're giving a one-week grace period for players to spend accumulated points from season 5 since we're wiping them at the start of season 6.

Big Z,

Some folks seem to be trying to generate confusion by saying that during the 'dead week', the point pricing and rating requirements on gear will be changed to the S6 levels.

From what I read it seems that after S5 ends on some future tuesday morning / monday night there will be a 'dead week' during which players can spend points on S5 gear at S5 prices and S5 rating requirements. The following week S6 starts and prices and rating reqs change.

Can you please disambiguate us?

Season 6 gear will not be available until season 6 starts. The week between the end of season 5 and season 6 simply provides players a warning to spend any left over points before they are reset.

I'm also curious as to whether or not the 2 week warning will be given. And also about this "dead week to spend points" in between s5-6.

Yes, we intend to give at least two weeks' notice.

Q u o t e:
During this dead week are we still going to have the same personal rating to purchase gear as we did before the end of s5? Or will arena teams reset at this time but not the points.

When season 5 ends, rated matches will essentially be shut off. Your rating will remain the same for the week between seasons allowing you to spend your points. Skirmishes will still be available during this time.

But this doesn't address the question of whether or not rated matches will still count towards standings after the release of 3.1 since the PvP forum sticky states S5 will end after the release of 3.1.

Referring to this?

We are nearing the end of Arena Season 5, which is currently scheduled to end with or shortly after the release of the next major content update, patch 3.1. A more specific date will be announced as we draw closer to the release of the patch.

It's simple really. When season 5 ends, rated matches stop.

You are really good at NOT answering the question lol

:D

Are you sure you're not just bad at asking questions? What do you want to know? I'm here for you.

<3

When do the rating requirements on S5 gear change?

During the grace period? Or after the commencement of Season 6?

Season 6.

Time line:

We give two-week (or more) notice as to the end of season 5.

Season 5 ends. Rated matches close. Ratings are frozen.

At least one week goes by (depending on QA variables with the new rating calculations being implemented with season 6).

Arena points are wiped. Season 6 starts. New items and costs are added to vendors.

This is what i'm trying to find out );

But apparently, I am horrible at the english language and cannot formulate an easy to understand question for a clear answer.

A sticky is in the works that I believe will clarify your questions.

So can we get a date on when arena will be removed from the game? Is it after the number of arena teams gets cut in half again in S6?

No, you can go away for a day or so though.
