hi! i am unable to log onto my character, i am positive that the name and password is correct, it goes through all the normal logging on things and then stops at "Handshaking" wat should i do?

Update: We are presently aware of and investigating an issue affecting Mac users at client login. Though we've no ETA at this time, updates will be provided herein as they become available.

So that I may look into this matter further, can those of you unable to access your target realm please provide the following information:

    - At what step does the log in process stall?
    - Which realm are you presently attempting to access?
    - Are you able to access other realms (yes/no)?
    - Are you using a Mac to access our game client (yes/no)?

For clarity: We're presently looking into an issue affecting Mac users at login. Should more information become available, I will provide it herein.

In the meantime, Sippy: You're unable to move past the "Handshaking" step, but are not operating a Mac?

Should one wish to merge their account with a Battle.net account to bypass this issue, they are most welcome—and you are most welcome to continue to provide the recommendation. As the service is presently optional, however, I'd rather the decision be made openly and solely by the end user.

Our goal is to the resolve the underlying issue and it is to that end that we are focusing our efforts. :)

Yes, and I thank you for your resourcefulness. :)

My intent, however, is to ensure our players that the issue is being addressed through the appropriate channels, that it is a high priority, and that resolution will be met just as quickly as possible. It is we who must bend to resolve this matter, not our players.

As I noted, while those who are affected are welcome to follow those steps you've cited (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=15864749241&postId=158632523003&sid=1#0), it is also important to state clearly that is not our desire to force our players to merge their accounts at this time if they do not wish to do so. The service is currently optional, as is the work around.

Small update: Our technicians continue to work towards resolution at this time. While there is no ETA at present, I hope to create a sticky thread regarding this matter so that helpful tips, suggestions, and updates may be provided with greater ease.

Try resetting your modem or router, Falanior. If the issue persists, I'd encourage you to hit up our Technical Support department. :)
