What does Zarhym call Bornakk?

I just thought of the effect of being known by most as a nickname. It struck me while reading a post where Zarhym explained the cubicle placement for a portion of the blue crew. Do you think they (Zarhym, Bornakk, GC, Neth and the rest of them) call eachother by the nicknames they use here on the forums?

I fail to compress the mighty floating skull and the friendly orc into the picture of two guys standing by the water cooler saying "hey john, I just painted my picketed fence again. You should SEE the shade of white I found!" and Bornakk or whoever answers "wow Charles, that does sound magnificent indeed!"

Just a random thought. :)

We call each other by our real names. The only time we really refer to our posting names is if we're verbally discussing things happening on the forums. I usually have to put thought into not using the real names of other blue posters when referring to them on the forums.

"Hey Zarhym, how about lunch?"
"I can't make any promises, but the prospect of lunch is definately something I am considering and I will get back to you when I know more."

lol

That reminds me of an email we received yesterday. One of our web producers mentioned in this email regarding the deployment of the Battle.net Account System that the forums would be taken out of maintenance "soon." I mentioned to Nethaera that I doubt players would understand that we even "soon" each other internally some times. :p

See, what people don't realize is I'm not really a post sniper. Zarhym just reads my mind and makes me look like one.

I think you really just post so much that it's difficult to avoid posting in a thread you have. I rue the day anyone would consider removing the post timer from player's accounts.

nerf the post timer imo.

Just for a day.

please?

I'd hate to see Eseten spend so much money replacing keyboards while we all sit with weeks of "Server is busy, please don't try again Eseten" errors.

I'm pretty sure they call each other by legal name. Being Co-Workers I imagine they would find it best if someone called them by their actual name instead of using their online name. The only reason people in Vent use character name is to lower the confusion. It shouldn't be hard for them to remember a Co-Worker they known for a long time.

This is especially true since we're constantly involved in email threads with other departments. Also, most of us became community managers after already holding various other positions within the company, so, for the most part, we knew each other personally before we knew our names as community managers.

I became friends with Eyonix, and especially Bashiok, long before I started working here. :)

I'm going to have a hard time not calling you Zarhym at Blizzcon.

Same with all the other Blizzard employees for that matter. >>

Feel free. We typically just refer to ourselves as our posting names when at BlizzCon anyway, since that is how players know us.

Bashiok just walked by saying, "I got nachos" in a strangely nerdy voice. He didn't stop or leave time for an additional exchange of information, which I find especially interesting.

That was so deliciously random. Also, I now crave nachos. Thanks a lot.

I guess it was because I had some earlier and commented on the fact that I've not gotten them from our cafeteria before, but he seems to get them every time they're available. Today was an exception until about 20 minutes before the cafeteria closed, he jumped for the nachos.

They were good. I had cheese, chicken, and salsa on mine.

You were so "formal." They grow up so fast.

That first post required manager approval too. True story.

Q u o t e:
The more interesting question is, what does Zarhym call Mrs Zarhym lol.

Well, not Mrs. for one thing. Marriage is punishment for shop lifting in some countries.

Hey Zarhym can i ask what you did work as before you became a community manager?

Ive always wondered and it doesn't help that for some reason i keep expecting you to appear in a janitors outfit...

Eh, close enough. :p

Community Managers talk with the player community, keeping them informed of Blizzard-related stuff (like the stickies up at the top of this forum) and taking back feedback for the bosses in Blzzard to put in the pot during their discussions.

This is one of the best player descriptions of our role I've seen.

I've always needed to comment on something about being able to buy Zarhym for 40g, but having to farm for hours on end to get Eyonix.

There's a joke in there somewhere, but I'm too classy to stoop to that level. =P

Fix'd failquote.

Now that's just mean-spirited.
