Unable to log in after account merge

After doing the b.net account merge and giving my email address and password, I am unable to log in to world of warcraft.

I can't use my previous account information nor the new account information that I had entered through the merge process (email address and password).

I attempted ot use your knowledgebase and didn't find anyone having the same problem.

Loppers, are you still unable to log in, and are you getting any specific messages?

There were a few issues earlier, but those are mostly resolved.

Please do let us know.

I've sent your information along, but I have no responses or answers yet.

Maybe i could get a question answered. <3

I have created my battle account, am at the phase to add/merge my warcraft account when i noticed this message:

Merge a World of Warcraft® Account
After merging, you'll log in to World of Warcraft® and related online services using your single Battle.net account e-mail and password.
(Available to US Accounts only)

As I am a Canadian resident I am hesitant to do this merger as I do like being able to log into World of Warcraft.

US Accounts mean you play on US Realms, vs. EU, China, etc. That isn't necessarily referring to your geographical location. If you play on US realms, you have a US account.

They've been working on it yes, I am so happy to hear it worked.

Thank you very much for getting back to me, I'll pass that on.

Enjoy!

I'm unable to log in as well, but my error message is:

"Access to this account is currently restricted by parental controls. You can change your control settings from your online account management."

I don't have parental controls on. I double checked this.

This is after I created a battle.net account and merged it.

I tried to log in with my new info. If I try with the old one it says this account is now attached to a battle.net account. please log in etc etc

Val,

Could you try logging on for me and let us know if you are successful?

Let's try logging in one more time Val.

If you are still unable to get in because of parental controls, calling Billing in just a bit is going to be your best course of action. Unfortunately, I don't have access to that part of the system.

Let's give this one more shot first.

No go. I don't know why it would say parental controls are blocking me, since I've never enabled that feature (plus I'm not in need of parenting).

I'll call up Billing when they open. This just baffles me, as I don't see how merging my Blizzard and WoW account would cause this glitch.

Thank you for your efforts to help me on this issue.

I'm a bit confused as well, Val - and I'm terribly sorry for this inconvenience.

Billing has access to that system, they should be able to shed light on this for you.

First and foremost, thank you all for your continued patience as we investigate this issue. After reviewing the cases presented here in this thread, we have been able to verify that most of these are now resolved. Several resolutions for ongoing issues have been posted in this thread and I am consolidating some of the ones that helped quite a few players get back in the game client.

We have been noticing that some accounts are simply taking a little while to merge, and as such we recommend giving the process a bit of time to complete. While the process should take no longer than 30 minutes, it is still possible that it could take longer; once it finishes, however, players have been able to log in normally.

If you attempted these but are still unable to login, please reply to this thread so we can compile your information for further investigation into the matter.

Compendium of Possible Resolutions

A possible resolution from the beginning of the thread:

Q u o t e:
1) Delete your WTF,Cache and Interface folders ( with the game OFF)
2) Power cycled both your modem and router
3) Reboot your PC
4) Run the repair tool
5) Reboot your PC
6) Attempt logging in with your Battle.net Username and Password.

This resolution has helped some of our players get back into the game client:

Q u o t e:
1) In your World of Warcraft game folder you will want to navigate to the enUS folder via the data folder:
~\WoW\Data\enUS
2) open realmlist.wtf using a writing program, like notepad or word, and make sure that you have this entry:
set realmlistbn "us.logon.battle.net"

It was previously blank which was causing the login issue

The following is a resolution for users of a European Game Client, trying to connect to the North American Realms.

Q u o t e:
1) if you use an eu client go into the World of Warcraft game folder.
2) From there, enter the Data folder, then the enGB folder
3) if you're on an EU client everything is GB, you have to change everything including the folder name to US instead of GB, rename the files from GB to US, that's the only change, change all the other files in the folders as well.
4) In the Data folder open Realmlist.wtf with a writing program and turn the EU in the login to US
4) Go into the WTF folder from the main World of Warcraft folder.
5) change the set realmlist eu.logon.etc.etc into: "set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com"
