Sorry to "fish for a blue response," I'm more looking for some help from the community on this one, but if GC posts in here to confirm it might be helpful.

I remember GC put up a blue response on the beta forums about how melee need to be able to close the gap to get in range and deal damage. I was wondering if someone has a screenshot or a copy of his exact words on that subject. We seem to be getting a lot of threads about mobility issues this weekend, and it would be nice to get the official blue response in here.

As best I can recall it was a post in a thread about Hunter mobility, and how they didn't have enough "outs" to get away from melee. GC basically said that melee need to be able to close the gap, or you have fights that go on forever (because everyone counterskills everyone else), or melee get kited until they die, and ranged always win against melee, which he said they didn't want.

I think he also used warriors heroic throw as an example in there for something. Anyone have something on it?

IIRC, the point was that when melee do manage to move to melee that they have to be able to do some damage. It is very frustrating to finally close the gap only to have your target constantly cycle through abilities that get them away from you again (especially if they are doing damage to you all the while).

The point was more about how we can't give ranged classes too many escape tools more than we need to provide melee lots of abilities to get into melee.
