Confused about the new account system

This is my first Blizz game, so im still a little confused on the battlenet thing

1) it says all Blizz accounts have been converted to Battlenet accounts. Does that mean my WoW account is part of it or will I have to create a new one?

2) Do I have to give the personal information to create a new Battlenet account? Not something im really comfortable with
