Please follow the advice I've provided fellow players who've received the same email, Imdalilguy:

Q u o t e:
Please forward on the phishing email you've received to hacks@blizzard.com, Gizzmo. I'd also encourage you to review our Fake E-mails from "Blizzard Entertainment" sticky, so that you may see what other types of "phishers" are currently on the market.

Additionally—and this is a completely optional step, but is recommended—you may wish to set up and register a new email address. When selecting the username and password for this new email address, ensure that these variables do not overlap with that of your WoW account or any other login type (guild websites, Facebook, MySpace, etc).

Once this address is registered to your account, do not use it for anything else: no additional registrations, no guild websites, no newsletter sign-ups, et al. Keep this address isolated. This should help prevent the reception of such emails in the future. :)

With that said, your email could have been gleaned from a number of sources. Hypothetical question to ask yourself: Is my email posted publicly anywhere? "Publicly" can include guild portals, forum networks, personal profiles, and/or WoW-related websites.

This is why we advocate the creation and registration of an email address which is not used for or associated with any other site or product save for your WoW account. :)
