Characters unavailable?

I am writting on behalf of my friend. He cant use the forum. He can log in on his account, but instead of his avatar, there is a red text underligned saying "You have no active World of Warcraft Accounts Attached'.

When he click on this text, it shows the "Select Character" page, but all his avatars are grey and italic, and at the bottom it says "*The characters on this account are unavailable, as the account has expired or is prohibited from posting."

So he went to his account and the account is still active. He checked his email, and he didnt receive anything from Blizz concerning a possible forum ban (anyway, he is strictly respecting the rules of the forum). He even checked both his old and his new email adress, just in case.

Is this just a bug due to the maintenance? Could anyone helps with just some more info on his case?

Yes, he did merge his accounts to a BNet account, and he did confirm the merge, he even post on the forum since then.

He is trying to log with the email adress from his BNet account.

His account is active, but it says : Next Bill Date: March 24, 2009 6:14:08 AM

Oooh, may it be because his billing period went just as the maintenance started?
