A Resto Druid looking for answers.

I'll start by stating I'm no where near an amazing player. But I'd like to think I have a strong understanding of how to play my class in any pvp environment, whether it be arenas, bgs, or world pvp. I've also always enjoyed healing. I began leveling my druid in S1 when druids weren't the amazing healers they became, While in the end this looks like a FotM reroll, here I am still playing him. I've played Warrior/Druid as high as 2186 this season, so I have a decent idea of the pitfalls of our class and that of warriors as well. But this post is solely about resto druids.

Coming into this expansion resto druids faced many issues the main one of course being DKs but this list also includes terrible mana efficiency and poor burst healing. While I'm happy that 3.1 started to address two of these issues in DKs, while slightly touching burst healing with buffs to nourish and living seed, I'm sourly disappointed that our mana efficiency is taking a turn for the worse.

So I guess I have some questions that I would love to have answered. While I understand you, GC, do not like Q and A like posts I feel like some topics/concerns for resto druids have been avoided or left unanswered. While I would appreciate a response I know you don't always have the time to sit down and respond to every post.

Do you and the other developers honestly believe mana efficiency for resto druids will be where you want it to be/up there with the other healers, if 3.1 went live today?

You spoke of the two different healing styles for druids in pvp. I can tell you the druid community, at least from the responses I've seen, much prefers the mobile HoT, run, CC type healer they are used to playing. Many, like myself only play the other type, tree tanking, because it is our only chance of survival against many team make ups. While you buffed tree you haven't really done anything to address the first pvp style. In fact with the Lifebloom change you arguably nerfed it. Do you feel like this style will still be viable if 3.1 went live today?

I know generally blizzards internal PTR testing is a build or two in front of what we the public get to test on the PTR servers. Are there currently any other changes, buffs or nerfs, that resto druids can look forward to that have yet to be announced for 3.1? I ask this because myself, and most of the druid community, feel not enough has been done to bring druids up from currently the worst pvp healer.

With all of the benefits build into tree of life, is there any plan to allow us to cast all of our nature spells (namely cyclone and entangling roots) in tree form? Currently it seems awkward that our unique abilities that we bring as a pvp healer aren't even usable in our healing form. Even with the reduction of the cost on ToL it is still really clunky and expensive, GCD and mana wise, to switch between healing and CC through out the match.

Druids have by far the lowest mana out of any of the healers in pvp. I sit under 13k unbuffed in pvp gear. My spells all went up in mana to make up for the mana pools we're supposed to have at 80, but in comparison my mana pool has barely gone up at all. Is this working as intended or are there some plans to bring druid mana up to that of the other 3 healers?

Even with the new imp barkskin talent druids have the least amount of defensive talents of the 4 healers, ignoring 30+ talents from other trees. We have 0 talents that affect the duration of diseases/poisons/stuns/DoTs/fear/disorientates/silences. Every other healer has more then one of these. As we are pinned further and further into tree tanking, this becomes more of a problem as we will be the easiest healer to cc/kill in the game. Are there any plans to improve this problem/is it even seen as an issue?

While this post has gone on longer then i thought it would, I hope you can at least take the time to read it and understand our concerns, whether you choose to respond or not.

One change we are (probably) going to make that will help Resto PvP a little is this:

The Tree of Life talent currently grants bonus healing to group members and reduces the cost of your hots in tree form. We would like to change the talent to say "Reduces the mana cost of all your hots and also lets you go into tree form, which grants bonus healing."

In other words, you would not need to be ToL to get the cheaper hots (in PvE or PvP) so long as you had the ToL talent. In PvP, you could still use tree form when you wanted to be more tanky but your efficiency would not be so bad when in caster form.
