It's just a weird phenomenon as far as I can tell. I guess I assumed it was common knowledge, but I also thought I had better add that caveat before I got a lot of "lolz GC says we pvp sub."

Subtelty isn't used much by PvP rogues on the US servers, but is on other servers around the world. I have no idea why there would be some kind of regional attraction towards one build or the other. I have read theories that Subtelty is really hard to play so you are pretty dependent on the rest of your team or that you are gambling on a quick kill or the whole strategy just falls apart.
