Blizzard and HSBC credit card

I'm not sure if this is something I should be asking here or if it's something I should contact billing about.

Over the last year, i've had my credit card blocked on HSBC's end 3 times whenever there are several charges on my card from Blizzard. Since I currently pay for 3 accounts (2 of my own and one for a friend of mine), getting multiple charges from Blizzard happens rather regularly.

As I understand it, Blizzard gets flagged by various credit card companies due to the actions of gold sellers sending charge backs and thus making Blizzard look like a fraudulent company.

I'm curious if there's a way to deal with this. Having my card randomly blocked until I receive a new credit card (which apparently takes 3-6 business days) is rather annoying especially as it happens in the middle of the month.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that this might have been an issue for you =(.

In your specific situation, Ralin, I believe contacting your financial institution may be the best course of action. Unfortunately, while our Billing department loves to help in any way they can, they would not be able to authorize a charge from a card that has been blocked; but the company who issued the card to you may be able to help. Make sure you let your financial institution know that you intend to make multiple Blizzard charges periodically and that those charges are authorized by you so there is no confusion.

You mentioned that you are issued a new card each time this occurs? Are they deactivating your old card and making your get a new one every time? You may want to ask your financial institution if you there is some way to avoid having to replace your card each time this happens, as it sounds like you are both encountering a bit of work from blocked charges.

If your financial institution is unwilling to keep the card from being blocked it's probably a good idea to look into an alternative form of payment. Pre-Paid Game Cards purchased in retail locations are always a quick and easy way around using a credit card on our site!

Alternatively, if you'd like to purchase time for a friend, you can do so via the Blizzard Store here:
