No trinkets. Level 70 Gear. All boe. No reputation AT ALL. Killing 24/7 in the same place. Reported once a day for over a month. How is this guy still going?

With the rarity that I post on this giant advertisement they call a forum, it wouldnt really effect me either way, and worse case there are other mediums and forums to post on. It isn't like they read these posts and actually care. If they did the game wouldn't be as broken as it is.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

I assure you that we both read the forums and care very deeply. Issues regarding exploits of this nature definitely touch a nerve, and I understand that. We have been studying this kind of activity for quite a long time though, and there are good reasons why we do things the way that we do.

It can be frustrating to report a likely botter, and see that same character continuing to play. Please trust that when we take action regarding such issues, it is very complete, and covers a lot of 'ground' - and like moving beyond the metaphorical tip of an iceberg, the sweeping geographies that are covered beneath the surface are far from immediately obvious to the casual observer.

Please don't stop reporting these players via the appropriate channels (calling anyone out on the forums is not only inappropriate and a violation of the posting guidelines, but is also an ineffective means of reporting a player in any case). We do value and depend on the reports of our players to ensure that none of these cases fall through the cracks. I deeply apologize if you've felt that your reports are ineffective, but I assure you that this is definitely not the case.

It is necessary that these things are done the way they are. I know that the seeming lack of prompt action can generate some negative feelings, or the erroneous belief that when action does happen, it's 'too late to do any good'. I hope you can find it within yourself to trust me when I say that these tactics are both necessary and vastly more effective than they seem on the surface.

Because money is money and Blizz will take it - they are a corporation like any other and if the "bot" is paying for an account, they will let it slide.

I'm sorry, Petitecobaye, but you are not only incorrect but you are amazingly wrong.

Although we are a company and our goal is to make money will not compromise the integrity of our game to do so.

These investigations take time, we do not close an account based off of a visual inspection of a character. We must verify that someone is using a third party program through a detailed investigation, we must be able to confirm that investigation was complete and accurate. And we also hope to collect enough information to locate and stop other people who may not have been reported for botting.

It is all well and good to eliminate the one bot you see but what about the twenty you don't or that weren't reported?

If you wish to view us as a greedy corporation, Petitecobaye, that's fine, you are welcome to your opinion. But don't spread misinformation on these forums, I won't allow it.

Forums should be here to openly discussions and share opinions, not to be threatened by a Mod who thinks everyone should 'drink the kool-aid' -

If you wish to discuss them elsewhere, Petitecobaye, knock yourself out. This is the CS Forum though where we address in-game issues.

"I won't allow it" sounds like I just insulted a family member and your going to kick my butt if I further my thoughts.

You basically did, most of us work for Blizzard because we respect the company, we respect what it stands for and we like the fact that like you, the majority of the employees also play the game. Suggesting that we knowingly allow activities that clearly violate our Terms of Use is a major insult.

Don't worry, my payment to WoW ends at the end of this month and you won't have to worry about a player who doesn't worship everything they see in WoW. I have been a huge fan of the game, art work and guildies (even went out of my way to Comic Con 2007 and skipped certain events to see the Blizz panel), but I am getting really sick of some of the things I've noticed with Blizz - I've been around long enough to notice patterns and I'm not just some troll (sorry for reference, I personally love the Troll race, lol) looking for a fight. It does look like you're ready for a fight though.

I'm sincerely sorry to hear that, Petitecobaye. I'm not sure what you've "noticed with Blizz", not much has changed outside of our continuing effort to provide the best gaming experience we possibly can and to provide the best support in this industry and beyond. I think we've done pretty good thus far.

Good luck in wherever your path leads you, Petitecobaye.
