When the bear was removed, the ring for the 3rd chest was made to drop in the 4th chest. The ring was no bear, but at least it was something to give a reason to care about the 4th chest. If the rare mount is removed, why can't some sort of token mount (a land mount using Thane's or Blamuex's horses as models would be nice) be put in place?
We are fine with removing the plagued/block protodrakes and adding in new mounts to achieve through Ulduar. While the old achievements won't provide a new mount at all, the new ones give players something new to shoot for.
