So, the red one goes too, right?

Any argument for trivialization of raids applies even more to heroics. Considering the main reason of he removal isn't speed but rather an attempt to prevent some achievement rewards from being trivialized, shouldn't the red drake be the first to go?

It bothers me that, if I want to go work on PvE achievements after finishing Uldaar for the week, I will probably have a lot more luck getting groups together to do heroic ones than naxx ones (And I became bored with heroics quite some time ago...).

No plans to remove the Red Proto-Drake at this time as it is not a 310% mount. We'll post an update if anything changes.

This really confuses me. Is the mount going because it is fast or to make it rare?

We want to keep fast mounts rare, so to answer your question in this case, "Yes, both". At this point we are okay with players continuing to earn Red Protodrakes over time and don't feel they need a strong rarity stamp.

The Amani War Bear was used as a comparison because we don't often remove a lot of things from the game and the scenario is similar as it is an item that we want to keep rare.

Hi Bornakk - I understand keeping the super fast rare, but if that's the goal, is there perhaps another solution that lets those 310% ones stay rare, but keeping the colors and styles available in a slower form? :)

We'd rather make it so when you see a plagued or black proto drake you immediately know where it was from and what the character did to get it. We aren't a big fan of seeing one of these then having to figure out which one it is. If you want a protodrake the red one will still be available, the green, time lost, and blue ones are out there as well if you are lucky enough, but these mounts - their colors/styles/speed - are what we want to keep rare.

Bornakk - The time stamp on achievements does that already. If its the whole that you want rare fine, I'm not required to agree, I'm only required to be polite in my disagreement. Still seems a shame however, since the difficulty of obtaining these pre3.1 can still be noted in many ways.

I appreciate the politeness.

There are some difficulties in gaining these mounts at this time, yes, but they can still be picked up before 3.1 goes live if a group focus and coordinates on them enough. We'll have new mounts available when Ulduar comes out too, so if you miss out on these you can focus on completing the Ulduar achievements from the start and get through those.
