I'd lose money utilizing dual specs.

See title. Now, I realize that every change ever isn't all about me, so if it's blizzard's intention to make this only useful for obsessive compulsive min/maxers and those who switch (very) often between two roles/gamemodes, I'm fine with that.

I've spent a grand total of ~200g in respecs in the last 4 years. Spread out among 5 70+ characters. Spending 1000g (even if it were for all my characters at once) would probably be a loss.

So, blizz, if you want everyone to use this, the price isn't right. If that wasn't your idea though, and this is just for the people who do spend this kind of money regularly on respecs, then it is.

'Tis a neat system, and I certainly would've liked to see it more widely useful, but it's your game. Either way it's better than before so :)

FAQ:

Q: Don't buy it then, noob.
A: I never asked whether or not I should buy it.
Q: What exactly are you complaining about then?
A: Complaining? Where?
Q: Why the hell did you make this post?
A: Fishing for a blue post, honestly. Bornakk confirmed my suspicions of:
- Reduction of cost for chronic respecers.
- Gold sink for everyone else.
Q: Amigettintrolled?
A: If you were thinking of asking one of the above questions, then yes, you got trolled. By this FAQ.

We are okay with not everybody purchasing dual specs. If your respecs are few and far between, there isn't much of a reason for you to be switching back and forth and even picking up extra gear to fulfill other roles. There are a lot of players who do switch roles regularly, whether it is going from PvE to PvP or simply from one location to another in either area of the game, they may look to change their spec and this should help make this process easier.

You may end up losing money, but you are also gaining a large convenience if you are looking to switch between specs at any kind of regular rate. With 3.1 just hitting the PTR, there is a lot of time to do a handful of daily quests and to save up to purchase this.

Thank you so much for instituting a Healer/Tank tax. Really, it's just what this game needed.

It's less of a tax and more of a buyout really. But I also know dps players who use different specs for different areas of the game, so this applies to all aspects of the game depending on how much you plan to min/max for them.

It's more of a tax and less of a buyout really. It will be pretty much required for any raiding Healer/Tank, not so much for DPS classes. For them it's more of a perk.

The continuous respec fees are more of a tax. Paying 1000g and getting two specs to switch between at will is more like a buyout.

If anybody feels this is something they will be required to get, I will say that people have played without it for 4 years and you still have plenty of time to save up the money for it if you want to get it.

Won't it still cost me 50g to alter my specs? I do see it being more useful for hybrid classes instead of pure dps, which gear themselves accordingly to their spec. There would be no reason to switch from one DPS type to another, unless extra utility is required(but non existant atm)

If you wish to respec one of the trees, it will still cost the respec fee of up to 50g, yes. At the same time, if using these two are what you primarily use, it can spread out the need to pay the 50g to change one of the trees - if it is spread out enough the cost will go down too.

Yus. 1000g to gain the feature, 50g to respec one of your pre-saved trees.

Sounds right, things are still subject to change of course though.
