This is a thread by Vryaiha which was posted on the Warrior class forums, but since blizzard hasent seen the warrior class forum in year's im C&Ping this post over here. possibly the best post i've ever seen btw..

"Dear Blizzard,

First and foremost, let me define an important term that I will be using quite a bit in this post.

UTILITY: The ability of a class to provide extra benefits or buffs to party members outside of its given role as a tank, damage dealer, or healer.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way...

If you do not believe that Warriors should be top damage dealers in PvE situations, you are clueless. I wish there was a less offensive, judgmental way of stating this fact, but fact it remains, for the following reasons.

Warriors bring, for the most part, no utility or buff to a raid that is not easily provided by a class that has overall greater utility as well. For instance:
-Battle Shout = Blessing of Might (Where we have Paladins as ultimate PvE buff bots and heal gods...not to mention utterly amazing tanks.)
-Rampage = Leader of the Pack (Where we have Feral Druids able to shift out of insane Cat DPS form to toss Innervates on healers...not to mention being able to swap forms to tank as easily, if not more so, than a Warrior or Death Knight in event of a main tank's death. And buff with MotW regardless of spec.)

Commanding Shout is the one Warrior buff I do not see commonly overwritten.

Moreover, Warriors, unlike every other DPS class besides Death Knights, do NOT have an aggro dump. While currently this is often not an issue, as tank threat in general is not lacking, it is a balancing factor to consider. And, as has been stated many times when Blizzard has seen fit to nerf Warrior DPS in the past, Warriors are ALSO a melee class, which generally exposes them to AoE that ranged classes can basically ignore. And while we are talking about AoE, shall we consider that DPS Warriors really don't HAVE ANY to speak of? Bladestorm is great...but it's once every 1.5 minutes, in what is currently an utterly lackluster tree. And a glyphed 8-second Whirlwind doesn't quite cut it when you have mages combining Living Bomb with all kinds of other exciting AoE damage.

DPS Warriors are one of the most pure classes in the game when it comes to PvE roles, yet somehow I am seeing justification from Ghostcrawler that, "Arms and Fury warriors should be mixed in with Elemental and Enhancement shamans, Shadow priests, Retribution paladins, Feral and Balance druids, and 3 types of DKs." These are all classes that are hybrids, and/or have more utility. Yet you wish for Warriors to be just ON PAR with them? I am afraid this makes no sense to me, and if the forums are any indication, the majority of the Warrior community agrees."

We aren't going to buff the damage (or healing) of a class because its utility is considered low. We also aren't going to offer unique buffs or change buffs because "we always have X class and they always bring the buff instead." Who you bring is going to depend a lot on the group you run with.

All in all, you will find very few classes who will argue their version of a buff is a superior one. It's just a popular line of argument in trying to portray your class in need of enchancement.

Now pointing out cases where the buff you bring is inferior to the equivalent buffs brought by other specs or classes is totally legit and the kind of thing we are trying to improve.
