being removed. These achievements will still be active, however, players will no longer receive the Plagued Proto-Drake or Black Proto-Drake for completing them. Similar to our decision to remove the Amani War Bear from Zul’Aman, the goal is to ensure that such mounts retain a degree of rarity in the game; and with raids progressing into Ulduar in patch 3.1, we feel obtaining the rewards for “Glory of the Raider” and “Heroic: Glory of the Raider” would be somewhat trivialized. For this reason we will be offering new fast mounts (310 speed) as rewards for completing select achievements associated with 10 and 25-player Ulduar.

GG blizzard!!!!!! way to screw ur customers.. alot of us have been working on those achievements for quite some time and now you want to remove the rewards all together.. that is seriously fail on you part and come when the Uldaur mounts are starting to show up in mass what are you gonna do remove those to because you feel you want those to be rare also.. FAIL way to make ur fan base dwindle even more...

You still have time to complete them.

Yeah, but enough time? If I started a group this week for the purpose of doing the 10-mans (and I've already done exactly that), will 3.1 be released before we have a chance to do them all?

That's partially the point though. These mounts shouldn't be easy to get or common. If the time you need to complete these achievements actually relates to the time it takes for a new dungeon to come out that will allow you to gear up beyond the achievement content, thereby making those achievements easier to complete, then too many people are going to get these mounts.

It's meant to be hard to get them. Quite hard. That said, your opportunity to earn these rewards is not being taken away from you.

Wait, I'm confused. How is removing them from being attained "not being taken away"?

Two similar achievements, both rewarding 310% speed mounts, will be added to 10 and 25-player Ulduar.

any plans to tone down the 10 man 3 drake sartharion? that one is way overtuned, all the others are fine

We're okay with 10-player, 3-drake Sartharion, but the general goal with Ulduar is to ensure the 25-player content is more difficult.

Why do you guys constantly do things to encourage 0.2% of your market to stop all over the other 99.8%? Honestly which portion do you think really supports you? You could at least hold is in a bit more regard.

If the whole idea behind these achievements is to make it very difficult to get a 310% speed mount, that would naturally imply the majority of the player base would have a tough time getting their hands on one. That is the point.

You have access to the dungeons and the loot. Now more than ever it's easier for more players to experience end-game raiding content. Virtually every move we've made since the release of The Burning Crusade reflects this. But the achievements are flavor and bonuses more than they are content. So while more players see the raid content, that doesn't mean more players should be getting some of the hardest-to-earn achievements. Achievements at this level of difficulty and reward, are, by definition, fairly elite.

Thank you for clarifying. Everything in the game will either be handed to you, or is only for those "elite" players. I have been educated, I will not strive for anything.

No, now that's not true. Don't go hyperbolic on me. The content in Ulduar is generally meant to be more difficult than what we've seen in Wrath -- it's the next tier after all. Those who progress through the 10 or 25-player Ulduar content and really get the mechanics of the instance down will have a fair shot at the associated achievements, as well as the 310% mounts.
