Epic Riding Skill

So, I hit 70 on my warrior. Cool. I head to shadowmoon with my 1k gold. I go to the gryphon master, go to train riding skill, and guess what!? I click the first one, and it's 150 riding skill. 600g gone. Why the HELL do I have to buy this when I already own 3 epic mounts which I have been riding since before BC? What happened to "all players with epic mounts will have their riding skill raised acordingly" from the patch that introduced flying mounts? If a blue could explain the problem to me (a bug, is it fixable, etc.) then that would be great.

Citizens of general chat, I beg of you: give me some suggestions on how to raise 500g without the ability to complete dailies, get to Skettis (for primal water), or get to elemental plateau. Thanks if anyone can help me.

Edit: My warrior is alliance and not on the same server as my lock, so I can't farm as him.

Also: MY EPIC MOUNTS SAY THEY REQUIRE LVL 55. IS THIS A BUG?!

Thanks for that. I think you're small mind couldn't comprehend the fact THAT I ALREADY WAS RIDING AN EPIC MOUNT. THEREFORE, I HAD THE SKILL OR THERE IS A BUG.

Your Alliance character possessed Epic PvP mounts, Destrolich. These mounts require a Riding skill of 75.

My response was significantly shorter than yours, Brointicus. All is forgiven. ;)

Patch 1.12 (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/patch1p12.html) modified Riding skill requirements and purchase fees. Any player who had an epic mount at this point in time had his or her characters' Riding skill scaled to 150.

Patch 2.0.1 (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/patch2p01.html) modified the Honor system, removing the allocation of PvP ranks. Epic PvP mounts were adjusted accordingly by having their Riding skill requirement bumped to 150.

Hypothesis purchased his Epic PvP mounts between these two patches. :)
