The dumbest thing a GM has ever told you

Mine are:

Petition: Cold snap does not remove iceblock when iceblock has less then a minute left on the cooldown.

Answer: Ahh yes, this is a simple fix oldandwise, just reset your UI and it will clear this right up, would you like me to send you instructions on how to do this?

Me: Well i appreciate the attempt to help, but i'm fairly positive that my UI has nothing to do with a broken spell.

GM: Well oldandwise i assure you that your spell is not in fact broken and that this is a UI issue, is there anything else i can help you with?

Petition: Transmute Alchemy Mastery has stopped proccing extra primal mights

Answer: I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you, however i would like to point out that the chance of proccing an extra primal might is just that, a chance, and not a guarentee. I personally know of some alchemists who have never learned a single new potion since the burning crusade came out.

Me: well, ok, i fail to see how learning new potions has anything to do with transmute mastery.

GM: It's all related, they are all parts of alchemy.

Me: (i really didnt know what to say w/o chancing being banned so i /afkd untill he closed the ticket)

theres a couple more but i dont remember them exactly, what about you guys

You know, it would be just as easy for Game Masters to expound on the "dumbest" things players have told them — while I do genuinely hold a great deal of respect for our player base, I must confess I've heard some real doozies in my time — but to do so, I feel, would be petty and ultimately unconstructive. While I certainly applaud and encourage players' freedom of expression, there are more appropriate venues for such concerns, namely [email protected]; it may be fun to commiserate on a public forum and openly mock those who work to serve your in-game needs, but it does little to help amend the situation, and less still to improve relations between players and our department.

We appreciate your insights, however, provided that they are offered through the proper conduit; we are ever striving toward self-betterment. :)

Q u o t e:
"Aliandren was moving 'quite fast'"

"Quite quickly" was the phrase, actually.

If you're going to attempt mockery, my friend, at least consult accuracy before proceeding. ;)

Oh, Rapture! Yet another thread that has turned, inexorably, to the subject of Aliandren. It's almost like a game, locking them all...
