Earth Elemental Totem
24% of base mana
Instant cast 20 min cooldown
Tools:
Earth Totem
Summon an elemental totem that calls forth a greater earth elemental to protect the caster and <his/her> allies. Lasts 2 min.

Let's check out Earth Elemental Totem. Nice, it summons an elemental to protect me and my allies. Good.

Now, in the game, my Earth Elemental has ~10k health. I have ~15k health and I don't tank. This Elemental is supposed to tank, but in naxx 10, in two hits he's really dead.
Plus, it has a 20 min cooldown. I can't even control it

Fire Elemental Totem
23% of base mana
Instant cast 20 min cooldown
Tools:
Fire Totem
Summons an elemental totem that calls forth a greater fire elemental to rain destruction on the caster's enemies. Lasts 2 min.

Now, let's check Fire Elemental Totem. Nice, it summons an elemental that rains destruction on my enemies. COOL.
Altough it has ~8k health, it must mean that it must do a hell of damage. 1k damage? umm.. ok, it's aoe so we're good.
Ah damn he ran out of mana now what do I do?
Oh well, let's just put down MAGMA TOTEM, it doesn't run out of mana, it does more damage, it attacks faster, and doesn't have a silly 20 minute cooldown.

The problem I see here is that the Elementals are really outdated, you gave them to us in BC and you haven't updated them since.
If you really don't want them to be useless like Sentry Totem or Rockbiter, I suggest making them controllable and make Earth elemental a tank, because 10k health is what an average class would have with decent gear in BC.
It should help if the tank died, until someone rebirth him.

Fire Elemental is useless compared to Magma Totem. Magma totem does more damage, attacks faster and doesn't go OOM. Plus, it's spammable. I don't get that, really.

Since it's a 20 minute cooldown, I think it should be a boost like Army of the dead (DK)

The Earth Elemental isn't supposed to be a tank like paladins can be a tank. They are there as an oh snap button, such as in a situation where the tank goes down, or can't control all the adds or something. Understandably, it is going to be more useful in 5-player dungeons than in larger raids.

The Fire Elemental hasn't kept up with the rest of the shaman arsenal, and probably needs a buff.
